Football Roster

So, ArkansasSports360 pointed out yesterday that Eddie Camara has transferred from Arkansas and is now a UCA Bear. That led me to take a closer look at the updated roster.

Outside of the known signees and mid-year guys, I found these:

1. The previously mentioned Camara – Kicker; Cedar Hill, Texas; MaxPreps Notes
2. Al Lasker, WR, 6-3/212; Freshman transfer from Air Force
3. TJ Randall, DL, 6-4/268; Redshirt freshman transfer from Nebraska-Omaha

Now to the ones we’ve lost. The ones with an asterisk are the ones who really surprised me.

Cleveland Shelton is the only signee (dline juco transfer) that I noticed not on the roster. Both Stigger and Ursin played in all 11 games last year, and I expected both to be key players in the front seven this season. I think we’d read on the forum about Govan and Richards leaving. Most of the others were freshmen who redshirted though. And finally, I guess Knowlton‘s time had finally run out.

Outside of that, the one name that stuck out to me as odd was Willie Matthews. He was a 2010 signing that – as far as I know – never made it to campus last season because he didn’t meet the D1 standards. Apparently he got all that cleared up, which should be really good for us. I remember being pretty disappointed that he wasn’t on campus.
