From reading the article in todays Log Cabin http://www.thecabin.net/stories/071905/ ... 0006.shtml it sounds like Salant is PISSED!

Why does he even have a voice in this decision?
It's his job to sit back and shut up until a university has made a decision.
Maybe someone should tell him that.

EDIT: I just finished the rest of the article and someone did tell him that!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Central Arkansas spokesman Tommy Jackson said Salant didn't have a say in Central Arkansas' discussion.

"It's totally inappropriate for the Gulf South commissioner to be commenting on internal affairs at UCA," Jackson said. "When he gets into that, he's more concerned with self-interest.

Heck, I wouldn't give him that much credit.

One thing about Nate, he sure is crazy about himself.

Burly Bear :D

Yes, I think we have established that fact already...

Purple Pride,
As far as the man's email address, I would assume it is on the GSC webpage somewhere if someone really want to write him bad enough. If it isn't on there somewhere, not sure where to look then.

** I found this address on the GSC website, it claims to be his email address: gulfsout@ix.netcom.com

I noticed that all their email adresses had different domains. They couldn't get one universal domain for their email I guess, or refuse to, one or the other.

I read an article where West Georgia is also exploring moving up. And, I've heard rumors that Valdosta may head that way too.

It could get interesting in the next few years on the GSC. Of course, most of you guys won't be paying any attention then because UCA won't be there anymore. 8)

there has been talk of Valdosta and W Georgia moving up as well. I have read that on other boards with fans of both schools, especially after it was known that UCA was publically exploring the idea.

I would find it ironic that if in 20 years, the 2 GA schools, Delta St and UCA among others were in the same conference in 1AA/D1. Highly hypothetical and highly unlikely I totally realize that, just thinking aloud, which gets me in trouble from time to time :D

I understand that West Georgia is still studying the possibility.
I got the indication from their inital annoucement that it would be six to eight years before they would make a move.
They are still using a local high school stadium for their football games
I understand they also have some other issues as well, however, I hear that stadium thing is real problem for them.

Burly Bear :)

That's what I read also. Here is an article from West Georgia's athletic website:

West Georgia investigating move to D1
