Bears look in late season form.....start slow, play sloppy, defense keeps you in the game then late heroics........

Run game looked pretty good....Crossley looked bigger and stronger but still quick...Myers solid also.......Smith looked very tentative running......give o-line some credit for 177 run yards.......

O-line also protected well......thought #62 was pretty tough blocking APU's DTs/DEs and blitzers...

Receivers finally got going in 2nd half...........we can all agree LW is the go to guy and he just plays ball and then bam he is open...Hudson looked very good in 2nd half.......Jack Short's two catches and run were terrific and Camargo's catch for 2pt is just what was needed....

Hats off to APU...tough defense......new head coach...7 new transfers playing 1st game at APU......5-6 starters including both long snappers injured......

Uncanny how similar this game was to last season's game.......

Go Bears!!

I had to sleep on this one. Here's what I saw:

1. Offensive line looks very good as a whole. Breylin was not running for his life all night and our run game just about put up the same numbers as all of last year.

2. Run game looks good.

3. Breylin looked....rusty. Unsettled. Lacking confidence until the end.

4. I'm concerned about our contain on defense. Bit us on the first play and a few other times where we let the QB get through defense.

5. Secondary was not good either. Back to our defenders too often.

6. The coaches concerns came to be: Conditioning is not there yet.

All of this being said, we have to remember that they had no spring camp, limited summer workouts, and an odd fall camp. And every other team we face will have been faced with the same difficulties. Hopefully we can get some good, safe practices in this week in Alabama and clean up a few things before UAB.

All in all, a win is a win. How many times did we say that last year?

I fell asleep during halftime, woke up to see they had won. Does that mean I need to take a nap everytime we are down?

All in all with everything that's happened with COVID and no spring, and quick summer to try and get ready, I thought the Bears did well in their game with everything going on in the world.

Cant wait to see what's up for this week.

Nathan was just on the SEC Network for 8 mins on the Paul Finebaum show - UCA is sure getting great nationwide publicity.

Hour 1: Big Changes coming : 9/2/20
Today was full of College football news, with players opting out and people saying that the SEC WILL play, two weeks out from the season everyone is getting ready. Nathan Brown, Head Coach of Central Arkansas joins the show as one of the busiest coaches in College Football right now preparing for his second game of the season.

I have heard coach brown on 3 or 4 interviews. Boy we are lucky to have him here. If he wasn’t so tied and invested to this place we wouldn’t be keeping him long. Hope that he stays for years to come. Kudos to pres Davis and dr Teague as well. Seems the program is doing everything they can to keep making this season happen.
