JONESBORO, Ark. (9/15/20) – The Arkansas State Athletics Department announced Tuesday that its Sept. 19 home football game against Central Arkansas has been rescheduled for Oct. 10.

The game's postponement is due to Arkansas State being unable to assemble a full two-deep depth chart at a specific position group due to player unavailability.

It was not the volume of total players unavailable, but rather the inability to field a safe number of players among the depleted position group that required the game be rescheduled.

"We are obviously disappointed for the student-athletes participating from both schools, as well as both coaching staffs and fan bases," said A-State Director of Athletics Terry Mohajir. "We are excited that we've rescheduled this game to be played at Centennial Bank Stadium on Oct. 10.

"While no one wanted this outcome, the health and safety of our student-athletes will always come first. We will remain diligent in our health and safety protocols, and we look forward to resuming our 2020 schedule next week against Tulsa."

All tickets purchased for the UCA game will be honored on the new Oct. 10 game date.

Best guess LB is the problem, they were missing all 3 starters last week. Only played 4-5 at LB so really did not have a 2-deep last week.

Your offense must be a little more problematic than K-State's was. Better later than never.

A-State postponed it's game with Tulsa this Saturday for the same reason it postponed your game. Only open date for Tulsa is October 10th.

As far as rescheduling the Tulsa game this year, Mohajir said "it's an option."

One way this could work is Moving the UCA game to Dec. 5 (other SBC teams play that weekend) and move Tulsa to Oct. 10.

In the Jonesboro Sun today A-State AD Terry Mohajir said he and Dr. Teague had discussed moving your game to December 5t, and Dr. Teague was fine with it, if Tulsa wanted to reschedule for October 10th.

Not only has the red chickens ducked us once, now they are trying twice. 1st it was not enough players to fill 2 deep. Now it's the covid. Whats next? If it was coach Brown he would make due with what he has to work with and no excuses.
