Just wanted to drop in and say hi. We are looking forward to Saturday. It will give us a chance to see how we stack up against a true quality FCS opponent. Played well against The Citadel but been snake bit last two weeks. Colonels were in a position to win both games but found a way to let it slip away in the final seconds. Two weeks ago a blocked extra point and return near end of game and last week Troy kicked a 47 yd FG with 4 seconds left to beat us. Hope to be competitive this weekend.
I will be happy to answer any questions you may about EKU, this years team,
(new coach, new system, several kids opted out) or even City of Richmond. Several accommodations. restaurants, and shopping within a mile of Roy Kidd Stadium.

Welcome to the board..........should be a very good game......long bus trip for Bears and for your guys coming this way later..........we typically start slow (not a new issue for us)..hang on in first half.....adjust at half......play tough defense........finally make some plays on offense in Q3 and play helter skelter in Q4........I still cannot believe we won last year and this vs Austin Peay on late Q4 heroics......2020 surely would rate as our toughest schedule ever....UAB was a tough game and we picked up injuries that got worse at North Dakota State and at Arkansas State......might get a couple of key players back this week.......one of our issues at Missouri State last Sat was a R-FR punter who had never punted for us filling in for a very good punter....the young man got initiated quick trying to kick into the wind from inside our 10 but hoping we get our first punter back for the consistency and wider portfolio of kicks....not clear what WRs and TEs we will have available for the EKU game...we took 4 TEs to Mo State starting with #4 on depth chart.......Mo State probably figured right we would not go to TE in passing game much.....maybe we get one of the Top 3 back for this week....

Let's hope for good weather and experienced officials!!

Sounds a lot like us. Pre-season had two all conference tackles. One opted out because of covid scare and we lost the other one against Troy last Saturday. Playing one true Freshman on weak side already. What was a very good linebacking corpse pretty much devastated due to opt outs, injuries and transfers. Troy was our third FBS opponent . We are pretty beat up, but like you hope to have a few guys back this week. We do seem to be getting a little better every week. Probably usual thing when you have a new coach and new system. As fans we don't really know what to expect week to week. We do have a very good QB who throws to a group of talented receivers and when healthy an excellent 6-0 250 pound RB who was pre season all conference also. Our fate on offense will depend on how well a patchwork O line preforms. D is a mystery. lot of young guys playing, and lot of injuries. Can be good if we can get the right personal on the field at the same time. So far we seem to make excellent half time adjustments and play pretty tough in second half.
What is normally a pretty loud and raucous place seemed almost empty due to social distancing and student no shows. Expect few more this week It is the covid-19 version of homecoming. Maybe even see a dismal crowd of 3500 to 4000 with good weather. Mask are required, monitored during the game and they will take your temp prior to entry. On the plus side. Visitors seats will be very close to rest rooms and concessions. You will sit behind your players bench.

Come on over to http://www.maroon-nation.com/forum/. Talk a little good natured smack.

I was impressed with the way EKU played Troy.

I've watched a few EKU games because I knew you were on our schedule twice this year.

Just wish the team we will present on Saturday would be the same one that started out the year... player-wise that is.

If that happens, we are in trouble.
