Hey everyone! Lion, I'm praying for your wife!

Also, Josh Goff (former UCA employee) just posted an interview on his FB page Dr. Teague did with some sports program and confirmed that UCA will join the ASUN and form the inaugural ASUN football league with Kenesaw State and North Alabama. Also 3 others TBD.
Also said he hopes to see us FBS in 2-3 years!

Thank you for the thoughts and prayers for my wife. They have flown her to UT Knoxville tonight from Florence. She is a charge Nurse at our Hospital, I'm a Firefighter. This has his us hard, with covid rules, I cant even go to the Hospital to see her. It's tough.

I read on different forums just to keep my sanity right now, dont know how much interaction I can do, but I try to give info as I know it when appropriate, I talk to a lot of people in UNA and the ASUN regular. So I found out info hear and there. Sometimes it's just group think and sometimes its serious, but I dont just pick random internet talk or fan forums and spread info that is misleading. What I post may not happen, but it is at least being discussed by officials at those schools.

Anyway, thanks again for the prayers, everyone needs prayer right now, it's not a good day in the world right now.

Conference championships:
1939, 1959, 1960, 1979, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 2005, 2008, 2012, 2017, 2019

Hate to see the SLC breakup but we will do well elsewhere also....Go Bears!!

FYI, the Bears won the AIC in 1976 and became the first UCA team, in any sport, to play for a national championship.

I was on the 76 team...we also won conference championships
in 78 and 80. Did not win one in 79

First, for Lion 1983.....hope your wife is doing well........I can relate to the impact of Covid on hospital visitors..........we went through that early in 2020.....

Second, as Foot rightly pointed out, the list of conference football championships was not correct.......guess he should know having been on teams omitted.....either way a pretty impressive list.....I was out of state for much of the great run so all I could do was read articles my mother sent me (some may not know but at one time their was no ESPN or internet)...like to see the streak continue but it looks like it will need to be vs a mostly new set of opponents....Go Bears!!

Finally came across the link above in my folders to an old media guide......not sure where I got the list below that left out a couple but thought I took from UCA page...apparently not.......have to add our 2019 SLC title to this also....

I believe his wife passed away. Very sorry to hear that.

The jump from NAIA to NCAA was definitely harder than the jump from D2 to D1.

Sorry to hear that...........

I think a good part of the challenge in moving from NAIA to D2 has to do with scholarships and maybe the frequency of FBS transfers to D2 that NAIA does not get as often...not sure what the scholarships were when we moved up but now I think it is 24 NAIA, 36 D2, 63 FCS and 85 FBS.....plus these are maxes and we probably have never funded all that we are allowed...I was not around to see much of the D2 days but agree that when we moved to FCS we seemed to really take off.........
