Press conference or just one dude talking will be aired on ESPN+. Hoping this ends all of the speculation, and we can finally have line of sight into the future of UCA athletics.

the rumor mill is bananas right now, so it's hard to know if anything is real, BUT there's wide speculation that the ASUN will announce 14-16 teams tomorrow for the fall 2021 semester. If we assume that UCA, Jax St. and EKU would make 12 teams (5 FCS scholly programs), then you can speculate that an additional 2-4(!!!) teams would be joining on top of the original 3.

There's absolutely no credence to this list, but these are the universities that have been rumored:

James Madison
Tenn-Chattanooga
APSU
NC A&T
North Carolina Central
Tenn-Martin
an outright collapse of the Ohio Valley
Delta St. (crazy but have seen them mentioned)

Anyway, should be fun. Hoping we can start a new conference instead of having to play in the Big South for a few years only to move again.

left out charleston southern as a possibility as well

So rumor is now that the three of us (UCA, EKU, JSU) will join as affiliate members of the WAC for football only in 2021! Then back to ASUN football in 2022.

Will be interesting to see what has been put together...put UCA, EKU and JSU in football along with KSU and UNA (we know they can get to a very good FCS caliber program) and that is a very solid FCS conference.....then add JMU, APU, Chattanooga and A&T and that would probably be #2 in FCS behind only MVC....winner might be lucky to have only 2 conference losses....Go Bears!!

I think it could have something to do with the fact that the WAC won't have enough eligible teams to get the AQ for the playoffs without more teams. It would be kind of a win-win for everyone.

So, the Southland schools will play a spring football schedule without UCA then play a fall schedule.............does NCAA waive the 11 game per year rule?

Do the Southland teams basically give up "spring football" and replace with the WAC games or do they get "summer football" also?

If UCA plays the WAC teams next fall, it will be a bitter departure from our Texas friends.

Has this ever happened before?
