Good to see this beginning to take shape.....just for kicks, the below uses the 2019-2020 football season and the Sagarin ratings..

MVC: 52.86
Big Sky: 50.32
Colonial: 50.14
Ivy: 44.29
SLC: 42.56

Now look at the hypothetical ratings using the 2019-2020 season's Sagarin but new alignments.....

MVC: 52.86, no change
Big Sky: 51.04,reflects Southern Utah move to WAC
Colonial: 50.14, no change
Ivy: 44.29, no change
New ASun: 44.10 (UCA, EKU, JSU, UNA, KSU and assume two new adds at ave rating)
Remaining SLC: 43.08
New WAC: 40.49 (SHS, SFA, ACU, LU, Southern Utah)...this is likely high as the other new WAC football schools likely would have lower ratings

Should ASun also add APU and Chattanooga, it would to 45.72....

Of course, this is all just for fun as in real life the new conferences play different teams than in 2019-2020 including more OOC teams as the conference schedule is smaller...

So, assume ASun adds two more football schools giving each team 6 ASun games.....that leaves 5 other games to schedule....who does UCA look to add?

Maybe two FBS?

A-State
Tulsa
La Tech
Western Kentucky
Southern Miss
Mizzou
Ole Miss
Vanderbilt
UAF
Ok State
North Texas

Maybe 3 FCS?

Missouri State
UT-Martin
SHS
SFA
McNeese
Nicholls
Southeastern
Northwestern State
Lamar
Murray State
SEMO

I have a feeling football will need to step up another notch in a higher rated conference....

Go Bears!!

Just glad we are going to be playing every year. i like your team, Cant wait to play you in a non Covid atmosphere. We tailgate pretty good in Richmond. You are invited to the Colonels tent anytime. Eat some wings and talk a little good natured smack. Should be some great games. If we get Austin Peay and Chattanooga in it will be a very competitive league.

I would assume the 2021 football schedule remains unsettled at this point. I sure hope we can get a full eleven games in. If we can schedule ten in a pandemic, I’m confident they’ll get it done.

Guys, this is old information, but I recall that for the 2021 nonconference portion of the schedule, we had games scheduled with Arkansas State, Missouri State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

I would not be surprised that they are already working hard on getting the full schedule ironed out.

I'm good with playing EKU every year but would like the conference to have a "no new QB" rule!!! They seem to have endless supply of guys who can come off bench and play well......

I am just so excited for something new at UCA. It seems like the ASUN really has a bright future. Looking forward to establishing new "rivalries" within the conference. I have a feeling we may keep playing Sam Houston & McNeese some years possibly. Seemed like both of those were our rivals in Southland. Possibly also SFA.

These three would be good one's to schedule non-conference games with. Always enjoyed playing these schools.

Yes, I feel like these schools all have a decent program history. Hopefully across all sports even!

These numbers may be off a bit depending on when you started but here goes:

Sam Houston State: 7-7
McNeese: 7-5
SFA: 11-3
NWST: 10-3
SLU: 9-4
Nicholls: 9-3
ACU: 9-1
Lamar: 8-1
HBU: 5-0
UIW: 3-1

That's our record against conference foes in the SLC. I'm sure the media guide says something different or someone here can get a better picture...but from the numbers above, UCA pretty much enjoyed winning seasons in this conference yearly. Not sure how we will do against Kennesaw etc....but I'm excited for the challenge! =D>

No doubt impressive record...especially for a small teachers school for Arkansas...

Wall weighed in today about the ASun move and the Southland...
