I can't see that little of money redoing the whole field PLUS the other facilities fields.

More likely removing the SLC logos and replacing them with ASUN logos and probably touching up baseball and softball areas.

The new field will be less expensive. All that needs to be replaced is the stripes. It already has a base that can be used. The turf is dangerous because it is worn out. I got my information from a person who does turf for a living. I am investigating to find out if the stripes will be kept. Soon as I know something I will post it.

Are you saying they are replacing the entire football field plus some of the other sports fields for less than a million dollars?

Are they buying the turf at Sams Club?????

Edit: I heard they are replacing the entire football field AND keeping the stripes.
Good thing too. I mean you can almost ice skate on that sucker!

I am only stating what I've been told. I am not an expert at all things. I checking to find out what the real information is about on the football field. I just have to wait on the person who is in the know.

stripes are staying...https://www.arkansasonline.com/news/202 ... racts-okd/

UCA Athletic Director Brad Teague said the artificial turf has a lifespan of about 10 years.

"It was time to update them for safety concerns. We would fully expect, with the new technology, that these would do 10 or more now," Teague said. "As we noted, 11 years ago, the cost of maintaining a natural grass field was actually more expensive than this upfront cost of putting in artificial turf."

Fiddler referred to the football field's signature purple and gray stripes and asked if the look was being maintained with the new turf.

"That is correct," Teague said. "That is our brand. The stripes are football and we want everyone to fear the stripes."

Good to hear......The Stripes were starting to look slick and footing seemed iffy at times but that is true of lots of artificial surfaces.....good looking facilities are important to program development.....still have to get to Conway for a baseball and softball game!! Go Bears!!
