I understand Breylin Smith will be the #1 guy no questions asked, but who's number two? Do we really have only three QB's on the roster right now? Really hope we don't get in trouble with any kind of injury.

With that being said, who's the #2? My gut would be Hunter Loyd as it seems he is more impressive out of high school, but Darius Bowers also has a year under his belt in the UCA system. My guess is they both could possibly get some playing time this year. Especially at games such as Lamar & Texas Wesleyan. Maybe even Abilene as well.

In that case, got to think that Tyler will want to Redshirt this year. Learn the system, and focus on playing time next year or the year after.

I don't recall Hunter Loyd's style of play but Darius Bowers is a heck of a passer and can run it when needed. I get that impression of him from seeing him in practices etc. He seems to have a "quickness" about him.

Gotcha. Sounds like we have our #2 guy then.

Not sure who the #2 is. But I bet coach will know as the practices and reps go on...

Loyd is the son of a coach and came out of a heavy pass offense at Rogers....not the screen pass offense of a few years back that they ran but the downfield and crossing routes....plus he is a big guy who can tuck it run....Mounties have not lacked for offense the past few years (however, defense is another issue) and scored much like the Bears......3 play 85 yard drives, etc....
