Had nice post of my analysis but it got deleted somehow and I am out of time to recreate....

Bottom line....big game for both....both playing well at 3-1 over last four games....EKU narrowly beats UNA at Richmond then goes on road to beat SEMO....lost to APU earlier but is 1-1 vs MAC teams in two close games...

Size and depth looks pretty similar...edge to EKU for QB Parker McKinney as we have too much experience with him and know what he can do....UCA looks to have edge in RBs but each has a stable of receivers to try to cover...O-lines look pretty similar in size and depth...UCA d-line looks a little larger.... UCA kick returns looks to have an edge BUT EKU has a very good punt return returner....

EKU can put up a lot of points as can Bears....they avg 33 per game but also give up 32 per game...

Sagarin would have UCA by 1.3 points....

Might be another game with EKU down to last play....

I will go with UCA by 34-32...wind could be a big factor so it also might be a field position game where defenses are the key factor...

If the Bears can stay on point…aka the past 3 games.
This one is a W…Secondary will be challenged today.
Running game needs to continue to show up.

Im taking the Bears 45-30.

Wow, Nothing I could say would sound good to you guys. Most of the Colonel Nation is just as surprised as you. We played an exceptional game and the Bears just could not get it going. Good luck the rest of season.

Very disappointing performance...EKU did what we knew they do and executed well, made few mistakes, took advantage of Bears' mistakes and ran clock....and did I mention they ran clock?

I am still trying to figure out what we were doing with 5 minutes left in the half trailing 14-7 going into the wind...instead of letting James and Smith who were averaging 5-6 yds per touch tote the ball and run a couple minutes off the clock at worst, we throw a pass incomplete, have a sack and QB runs on 3rd and 16....took 90 seconds off clock and lost 3 yards making Caughron kick into a 20+ wind and EKU returning to U38 but fortunate for Bears they fumble and we get another possession... then we start off good with a QB run by McDowell and a run by James on a razzle dazzle then get a 15 yd penalty with the QB called for a block below the waist and back to U34 and on 1st and 25 throw an INT with 2 minutes left that is returned to U6...end up down 21-7 at half and we really never recovered...our Q3 possessions were 6 plays/13 yds, 4/-2, 5-24.....and down 28-7.....EKU had Q3 possessions of 5+, 2+ and 5+..and 2 TDs....

Not sure this was really a winnable game given how well EKU played but seemed we just did not help ourselves out when we could...

It will take huge efforts and improvements to win next two...

ASUN standings have:

JSU, 3-0....EKU, @UCA
UCA, 3-1....@SFA, JSU
EKU, 2-1....@JSU, KSU
APU, 2-2....@KSU, @Bama
KSU, 1-2....@EKU
UNA, 0-5...Tenn Tech. @Memphis

Bears need JSU or KSU to beat EKU and we need to beat JSU....possible but no more off games....

Losing Hale last week with a commanding lead was frustrating. The game was over. Felt like we went 1 too many possessions with our studs. At this point I am hoping to see some of the underclassman that we’ve heard about who are redshirting. Maybe give a little hope for the future. With that being said the next two games are going to be difficult and we may have lost that opportunity.

Is what it is…Sometimes it just don’t work
no matter what you do. I imagine Tennessee,
Clemson and Bama fans are wondering what
happened…even though Bama did put up a fight.

One thing for sure I would like to see in the next 2
Games is the #2 QB get some more PT. Will has
done a nice job in his first year and he still deserves
to Start… but the other guy is intriguing to me.
Sorry I can’t call his name at the moment.

I know Darius was out but did that make a big
enough difference to explain the performance?

Clifton McDowell....transfer from U of La...6'4 220....frankly he does not look 220 on the sidelines but he is supposed to have a very good arm....clearly has some ability to run with the ball...very few teams seem to have backup QB ready to play and that is lack of playing time....Ok State loses Spencer Sanders and their two backups have struggled to get scores...not sure either back up has played a series this season other than handing off to run the clock... am guessing Will and Clifton both get time vs SFA....

The Hale injury looked like a freak deal ...maybe he stepped wrong and stretched the hamstring or maybe it cramped....did he dress for the EKU game? I could not tell from Acri comments....

Onto to Nachogdoches....Go Bears!!
