After looking into the Spring Game notes as well as the depth chart. I feel much better. Not to say there is uncertanty, but we should be ok starting out atleast.

Depth chart to my knowledge it looks like:

#1-Will McElvain-Soild player

#2 Austin Myers-Looks to be a workhorse. I hope he really digs into the playbook to learn and get's support that he needs.

#3 Im guessing falls between Caden Sipe, Collin Cooper, and Stran Smith. Don't know anything about these guys, but looking at where they came from, I am hopeful at least one works out. At least to be the starter their senior year. I'm guessing one at least will transfer eventually. Id say maybe Caden Sipe and Collin Cooper have a slight edge over Stran?

Hate to hear about Clifton, but maybe just not a good fit at UCA? Didn't get much time last year, has to be a reason why.

Bears also have highly regarded Tre Guerra from Keller, Texas coming in July.
Regardless, if QB1 gets hurt, Bears will be playing someone who has not taken a snap in a collegiate game.
Concerning Clifton, best of luck at his next stop. I was always intrigued by the 6’4” 225 pounder’s potential.

I didn’t see Smith Saturday. I asked the gentlemen next to me and he said he left for d2. Sipe also gone. I think McDowell wanted that starting spot and most likely Myers was also knocking on number 2’s door and he is built just like McDowell. Very athletic multi sport guy with a high Iq and work ethic. Everyone inside the program I’ve talked to seems to be very high on him. I wish McDowell nothing but the best. They played 2 Qb’s after Mcelvain and Myers. I didn’t recognize them. I think they are walkons. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them dip into the portal because injuries do happen. I think I saw the Guerra kid on the sideline. Looked to be about 5’11-6’ 170-175 lbs. . Will need to put on weight between now and the fall. It is a big transition out of high school. Hope he can come and contribute. You need at least 3-4 solid guys.

According to the UCA signing day release Guerra is 6’2” 185 lb and was offered by D1 Western Kentucky and a number of FCS teams.

That’s certainly interesting to say the least.
