What a game. Easily one of the craziest endings I’ve ever witnessed. Shoutout to the guy running the clock lol.

Looking ahead, however, gotta play better if bears want to beat Austin Peay. The playcalling on offense is brutal at times. Bubble screens and swing passes to the RB is their M.O. Defense can’t allow teams to dink and dunk the whole field twice in the last 3 minutes and expect to win next week. I know defense got hit with the injury bug with T-Bird, Godfrey, and Hayes going down at different points. I know Hayes missed the rest of the game, hopefully he’ll be back next week. Also felt like the penalties weren’t as bad this week as in weeks past although the refs were not good (per usual). I think UCA can pull it out but definitely have to clean up some things. Gonna be a fun one!

What are yalls thoughts?

Unless this turns out to be a totally unexpected beatdown likes UCF put on Ok State I see a game with no margin for error for Bears....at least we typically play well on the road....I need to update myself on APUs stats but they are usually a very tough out....I expect all phases of game will be important ...but we have a very heady QB and lots of great playmakers......

Sagarin ratings has APU by 3.....

It’s best we didn’t make the playoffs because this team would have got absolutely embarassed.

Take two high power offenses, put the season on the line and what do you get? A defensive and field position battle...

APU gets credit for constant pressure that plugged run gaps coupled with excellent DB play on our receivers.....receivers dropped a couple huge passes......defense played terrific overall .....APU's last drive of H1 and first of H1 won the game for them...neither team could run the ball effectively with any consistency.....both punters were excellent...

Winnable game with one more play.....

Hard to believe a 7-4 team with only 6 D1 wins gets at large bid....the loss to Tarleton at home is probably a killer to playoff chances...besides Tarleton ended 8-3 with 7 D1 wins and win over Bears....

Not what we expected for the season but better than last two years for sure....

UCA 14th in FCS in Total Offense 20 yards per game behind #6 APU....before today.....we each had about 240 today.....sometimes defenses rule...

Usually high powered offenses can score at will, this offense could not do that consistently this year, they also don’t go 3/18 on third downs in a single game when it matters the most.

No one scores at will unless P5 is playing NAIA....defenses have something to say about the game also....

Didn’t see or listen to the game.
From the stat line and the recap it
sounds like both defenses played
Very well.

I agree with coach Brown on his assessment
they were in every game with a shot to win
except for North Dakota State. The Bison were
up 49-17 in the 4th quarter. Bears get 2 more
Scores to set the final of 49-31.

All in all not a bad year…but below expectations
for sure. Bears are probably a top 25 team imo,
but are not top 10 or even close. Not sure that
they can get over that hump.
