What will it take to get the program to consistently be in the playoffs?
My take is the O-Line needs to continue to get better. The Bears are still a little Smaller compared to the teams in the Top 10. They also need an attitude.

It's gonna take landing a few 3 star recruits on the defensive side of the ball and better playing calling on offense to get to the playoffs consistently. UCA has a million three star RBs (not complaining because I see that as a blessing and good fortune), as well as several 3 star "quality" WRs just waiting to shine. UCA just needs to find a way to be more dynamic on offense. Seems like we play it safe and HOPE for big plays versus actually having big plays as part of the game plan. And to be extra critical, the DBs technique of just keeping everything in front of them and not having the internal clock to get their head around so they can regularly contest passes, has to improve.
I'm hopeful UCA can make the needed adjustments. And not homer fan hopeful. I really think UCA is just a few changes in philosophy away from making the playoffs at least 3 times in any given 5 year period.
GO BEARS!!!!

Man I just don’t know. I agree with gready with the play calling. We seem to go for broke in the 4th qtr because we are forced to and that turned out well for us a couple times until it didn’t against tarleton. The first half against Austin Peay we made all the “right calls.” I think we should have went for it on 4th and goal.
Db’s have struggled the last couple of years. I know that is an extremely hard position to play. I think every position should be up for grabs. We just can’t keep playing it safe if we want to be a contender.

O-line & D-line dominance is the most crucial formula. UCA currently has the skill ingredients to sustain.
It’s still a physical game. Finesse will Get your ass beat against teams that stress physicality. Got to develop a Kill or be killed mentality. This comes from the coaching staff…

Two losses by 2 vs. tarrelton and Peay is the difference between 9-2 and 7-4 and the playoffs.

I would have liked to have seen how the Osu game would have turned out had the terrible blindside block not have been called and we took an early lead. And to your point a lot of really close games this season. Some would argue it took a true Hail Mary to not be 6-5. And I can’t believe the implosion of Stephen F Austin in the 4th qtr or it would have been 5-6 with one of those 5 being against a juco. I’ll take the 7-4.
