I got word from the UCA Alumni Association meeting in Hot Springs last night and Lu said some good stuff there. 1st off he said that he is still in the information gathering stage about the what I will call the probable move up to 1-AA He then went on to add " we WILL Play ASU."

He also told everyone that he/UCA is negotiating with Tulsa, SMU, Ole Miss and Memphis for future games, and not just all road games. Rice had been in negotiations as well, but they are having some pretty bad budget issues and already turned us down. That was from several people and not just Lu.

Sounded like they had a great meeting down there.

If they pull off getting one of those to come in it is coup of the decade in Division I.

Tulsa has played 3 I-AA games the last decade, all at home.
SMU 1 and at home
Ole Miss 4, all at home
Memphis 4, all at home

Idaho is the only I-A that has traveled to a I-AA in years and most of the games with I-AA's hosting I-A's were cases of contracts that were signed before the I-A realignment of 1981 and a handful by schools honoring contracts as they moved from I-AA to I-A.

Very rare, a huge PR plus if they pull it off.

just posting what he said. But I'm guessing that War Memorial has more seats than Skelly Stadium (40K) in Tulsa, and Gerald R. Ford Stdium (32K) in Ft. Worth. So the money and attendance would be nice for them as well. As well a decent regional appeal.

I hope it does too. That would be great. I just hope if that day or those days ever come about, the weather will be nice!

Bring it on boys. I can't wait to get you guys back in Jonesboro. Looking for the third win in a row only this time maybe we will put a little more points between us. Regardless it will be fun. As soon as you get your scholarship limits up and get up to 1AA we shouls start playing. I'm looking forward to it.

I really enjoyed those games, minus the final scores. Both games were really good games no matter the outcome, and the atmosphere was outstanding as far as I'm concerned. Those 2 game were the first times I had been to Indian Stadium since the mid 80s. I admit I went to a couple of Indian games in the way distant past, but only because my dad sent a couple players there, and we would go support them.

I am hoping all sports would get some type of series going. Although I'm not sure how competitive the baseball series would be. But I thik stAte would win both BBall games at this time, but it would be close just like the football series.

Anyway, welcome to the board, and maybe sometime in the future we will know, or hopefully find out if or when we have a series.

One other note on this thread, the next alumni association/purple circle gig will be on June 21st at 6 p.m. at Searcy Country Club, Searcy, Arkansas.

Got this from Jan Newcomer on Friday and was asked to pass it on.

I'm not sure, but I do not think they will be. If any go it would be #3. But I am thinking it will be 101 and anyone who VOLUNTEERS to go with me!
