First of all greetings to all of my fellow Bearbackers. Coach Conque wanted to name me BigBearFan. The name Papabear was given to me by my Daughter. SummerSueBear, she said " oh no daddy that will not work, your name will be Papabear!" I've spent 14 yrs. as a Razorback fan, 8 yrs. as a Indian fan, and one year as a Bearbacker under my belt. Now it's time to spend the rest of my football fan years as a Bearbacker. This is a wonderful time to be a Bearbacker to say the least. We've got everything going our way as to building a program that Cent. Ark. can be proud of. UCA has a bright future ahead. U of A in my opinion will pullout of War Memorial stadium, they have enough regional support that they don't need State wide support. I don't think that Arkansas stAte will take the Razorbacks place should they leave. This will open up the opportunity for the Bears to take over Cent. Ark. football. I predict that the War Memorial stadium commision will ask UCA to play most of it's home games in Little Rock. You may not agree with me on this subject , but never say never because anything is possible in College football. Anyways thank you all for having me as a Bearbacker :) . It's fun and extremely exciting to part of good people, and a good College football atmosphere.
Again I appreciate all of the Bearbackers

About the only thing we don't agree on is playing a majority of our home games in LR. 1 or 2 a year, or every other year is fine by me for all the points you raised above. But taking us away from our HOME FIELD is not what I have in mind on a move up. That and renting War Memorial for a whole year, and paying the required fees of what goes into renting the stadium for a whole year's worth of games (and drawing the crowds we would draw) would not be financially profitable I have a feeling. I don't think we would be selling out War Memorial whenever we DO play there, unless it is stAte, and still as much as I think a HUGE crowd will show up for that, I don't think 50K+ will show up for it, although that would be AWESOME all the way around if that did happen!

I would assume IF that day ever came and the commision ever asked us to move full time, I would hope we politely say NO and then agree to 1 or 2 games there on a regular or semi-regular basis. But we have a GREAT home stadium as is right now and with future additions can only get better!

But on all other points refer to this> IT'S GREAT TO BE A UCA BEAR!

What I meant was that the War Memorial stadium commision would cut a deal that businesses in LR would pay our rent for each game. I do agree with you about our home field, in my opinion WMS is a dump. I truely think that our attendence will grow and exspansion of Estes stadium is in the future. A game with a D-1A school in LR would be nice if it is within the budget.
GO GO Fight Bears !

I am not crazy about it, but I have a feeling we will be playing at least one game a year for the next few years in Little Rock. I hope it is no more than one game.

We have a home base in Conway that we need to build on.

We really need to work on getting fans out to the stadium in Conway. That is something that is really lacking to say the least. Sure we have had good crowds at home in recent years, but we could do better.

IMHO, it all starts at home.

as my yet to be developed and printed T-shirt idea reads:

" I AGREE WITH BURLY BEAR!"

Ok I understand you a little more papa after your clarification. But I do hope we keep the majority of games in Conway. I have seen the increase and excitement level of UCA football rise in the recent years, but their is still a lot to be done.

I've staked out a tent area for tailgating next Fall, we'll just put it on top of that and the whole world will know who to agree with!

One thing about the tailgating area for this fall is that the alumni association is building a pavilion at the north end of the practice field that is expected to be ready for the home opener.

I understand it will seat about 150 Bear Fans.

Something to look forward to.

forget outhouse, to save $$, why not dig a hole in the ground, connect it to Russellville, put a tent around the hole and let er rip!
