Burly, I agree with your realistic estimate, and also hope you are wrong. Can you imagine how empty War Memorial will look.

If they really hope to get the crowd to be big, they will not only allow but encourage some REAL tailgating on the golf course like at Hog games. That means allowing, wink, wink, beer. Let the students and fans have some fun - this ain't Searcy and we ain't Harding.

I forgot to respond to the Searcy remarks.

We need to make plans for a kegger at Searcy on September 16th.
You in ?

I'm afraid it might be difficult because it will be the very first day of classes and playing on Thursday night will be a factor.

Two points here:
1. No one does anything on the first day of classes! :)
2. Clearly there will be plenty of parties happening that night anyway - might as well start before a football game!

The athletic director has had 30,000 tickets printed for this game...I hope that I am wrong, but I suspect that about 22,500 will go unsold. People in Little Rock are not going to come out in droves to see UCA play a team that most have never heard of. We could have had this game at Estes and had a great crowd (like Tech) and really created a good atmosphere.

6,000 to 8,000 fans are going to look awfully sparse in War Memorial. Like I said, I hope that I am wrong.

I suppose 15,000 or so tickets will be "sold" - I imagine there will be some major lobbying going on to have some big corporations buy up some ticket blocks to give away to their plebs. Now whethers or not these newly-minted holders of free tickets chose to attend....

There is alot of the going on now....I know of one company in Conway that purchased 250 tickets, so I'm sure there is more of that.

The countdown is now in single digits until the first game. This time next week we should be putting the paint on our faces.
