There's quite a bit of info that I wasn't aware of McCollum's Column today - in the newsstand.

"Conque and his staff expect to collect 28 to 30 signatures Wednesday. Division I-AA schools are allowed 63 scholarships that can be split. However, only 85 players are allowed to be on aid at any time.

As expected, the transition has produced attrition. Conque and his staff have helped running back Willie Hopson and linebacker Dwayne Hall transfer because they did not project to meet Division I-AA academic standards by August.

Linemen Josh Cade and Brandon Rochelle have transferred because their time clock for years of eligibility was running out, according to Division I-AA standards."

It has been mentioned on here about Hopson, but I hadn't heard about the other three. The only way I'd be more excited about the future of the program would be for their to be more home games. :D

Cade should've been the first name in everybody's mind when the move was announced as far as players getting caught up in the eligibility shuffle. You don't see a whole lot of non-Mormon 28 year-old freshmen in the D-I ranks. Cade hadn't been off playing baseball, either. He was a transfer from Tyler CC, so his clock had started.

My guess on Hopson is SAU.

I heard willie hopson transfered to Ouachita Baptist University. Cade was a big dude. His size alone would have been great to have on the oline. Oh, well, maybe the replacements will be huge too!
