UCA 2014 Spring Fotball

Spring football starts in less then two weeks. I am so looking forward to this. Spring game is April 12th. This is my son's last football season at UCA. It has been an unbelievable expirence. We are so thankful for the opertunity for him to play in a program that has been nothing short of great. This season is shaping up to be a good one. Fear the stripes. Go Bears.

My son told me they will practice every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. He didn't give specific dates and wasn't sure how many would be scrimmages. Regardless, that's the best I could get on a schedule. Somebody else may be able to do better.

UCA lost a BIG fan yesterday. Condolences to his family, also big UCA fans. PM me for details if you want to know who specifically. I'm asking his family if I can post his pic here out of respect and timing.

Well, his family happily said I could post his picture. I know many of you will recognize him. 34 years of attending UCA games. Here's what his daughter in law said about the funeral.

Oh yeah, & he's being buried in a purple shirt, grey suit, UCA grey tie we gave him for Father's Day that he never had a chance to wear, his bowling shoes, & 2 UCA magnets on the top of his casket.

Went to practice this morning. Gates were locked but I watched a little while from outside. Coach is sooooooo hands on its ridiculous! He keeps them moving. I mean they don't stop AT ALL. O-line is learning some techniques I've never heard of before. You will hear coach talk about "our grass" when it comes to the oline. Players that were not active on the field were running or doing push-ups. The pace was fast, very fast. Maybe next time the gates will be open.

Sorry to hear about Mr. Monroe...didn't know him personally but
If he was a BEAR FAN he was my brother. I remember seeing him
At all the games. Sad to lose such a devoted fan. My condolences
To his family.
