Well, now that we have that mess behind us and a new AD in place, lets start talking about some football...I mean it is only about 3 1/2 months away!!!! Ahhh, I can smell it in the air already. So what is everyone's take on the upcoming season?

Day Date Opponent Location Time/Res Record
Thu 8/31 Henderson State (Capital City Classic) Little Rock, Ark. (War Memorial Stadium) 7 p.m.
Sat 9/9 Illinois State Normal, Ill. 6:30 p.m.
Sat 9/16 Missouri State Conway, Ark. 6 p.m.
Sat 9/23 Stephen F. Austin Nacogdoches, Texas 6 p.m.
Sat 9/30 South Dakota Conway, Ark. 1 p.m.
Sat 10/7 South Dakota State Brookings, S.D. 7 p.m.
Sat 10/14 UC Davis Davis, Calif. 3 p.m. CST
Sat 10/21 Sam Houston State Huntsville, Texas 2 p.m.
Sat 11/4 Southern Arkansas (Homecoming) Conway, Ark. 6 p.m.
Sat 11/11 Augustana (S.D.) Conway, Ark. 1 p.m.
Sat 11/18 Georgia Southern Statesboro, Ga. 1 p.m.

I feel good about saying that we have a great chance at going....7-4 or even 8-3!

With all of the drama of the last few days, it will be a pleasure to discuss the upcoming season.

Let the cussing and discussing begin.....

Well since it's about to be summer break, the question would be, who comes back early to work on their "game" to get ready for next year. Anyone heard who will be back early or stay the entire summer to"workout"?

Also will any freshmen be in school this summer to get used to college life and workout?

Anyway I guess it's something to talk about if anyone knows.

I have no idea about this year, but I do remember Coach Conque saying that the team had a large group stay around last summer - largest he'd had since arriving.

Hopefully that will continue and maybe even more can stay/come in this summer. I'm sure that can get quite expensive.

I've heard somewhere in the 50s or 60s will be sticking around for the summer.

I've heard the same thing, King.

I heard Clint say recently that he may have more players staying in town this summer than he has ever had.

Absolutely . . . if a freshman wants a chance to make the depth chart in the fall they will have to show up and be ready to bring the leather.

We have some challanges ahead of us this season. Ill. ST. Cal. Davis, and Ga. Southern. We have alot of 1-AA games that are very winable. We as the fans need to keep bringing folks to the games. There is no reason now that Estes Stadium shouldn't be packed out. Anyways thats my thoughts on this subject.
