My wife and I are going and we snagged tickets on stub hub for about $35 a piece close to the UCA sections. I'm anticipating a less than full stadium, so I'm hoping we can scoot over a few seats to watch with the rest in Purple and Gray.

The link below is also a resource for online FCS coverage. Not a whole lot of options out there:

Anyone attend the scrimmage Saturday? From what I hear we look a lot like we did last year with a great offense and a defense that can make plays but can be gashed. Hopefully all the chatter about gains in the weight room will translate into more of a run stuffing D.

Yeah, from what I've heard/been told we are looking similar on offense to last season, quite a few weapons. The defense seems to be stepping up a notch seeing as how they are more familiar with the defensive schemes. Should be a pretty good year if we can survive the road slate to start the season.
GO BEARS!

The defense looked a lot better on Saturday than they did in the Spring game. The offense had a few long plays, but overall looked like they are fine with grinding out 5 yards at a time. The pace seemed a little slower than what we ran last year. The O-Line looks real good and hopefully we can keep them health. QBs threw the ball well with little decline from first to third string. Can't wait to line up against another color uniform and see where we really stand.

FBDad,
Thanks for the update. Hopefully, we are bigger and stronger and our defense can reduce the number of explosive plays by the opposing offense. I'm anxious to see how we play at Samford!

PS: great avatar! I have the painting on my weight room wall.

IMO, nobody in the Southland plays much defense, the teams that win (including ours in '11 & '12) come up with some keys stops & avoid the quick strikes. If the Bears can keep the other guys in the 20's, I think they can have a great year. That will require improvement. Go Bears

Just one tackle a few yards earlier vs Mo State we would have been a 7-5 record and a possible playoff spot..our guys were whipped chasing their receivers that last drive it seemed.....agree re assessment of how SLC team's typically play but I would love to see a lock down defense that is rarity at any level these days.....keeping opponents in 20s is actually pretty soild now....really need to win at Samford for playoff chance unless we win SLC......

SLC preview........

Excellent article below on Winfrey...great example of why you need to make offers to players that the common wisdom is they are heading somewhere else......he reminds me of Tristan Jackson who has been a very good CFL player......both have a nose for the ball and play confidently.....
