Season preview from College Sports Madness. Typical really, saying we are 3rd behind SHSU and McNeese. Need to upset one and run table to make postseason

Yeah, and we need to beat Samford also to increase our non conference reputation.

Samford had the #7 offense in the FCS last year and this year they are supposed to be better. We got to find out what those teams that beat them did and do the same! =D>

They came in as an unknown to us last year with their new coaching staff. We literally had no idea what to expect out of them (granted they put it on us pretty good), but this year we at least know what to expect and how to prepare for it. Plus the game is on the stripes!

GO BEARS!

Samford win last year would have put us in the playoffs at 8-3. They whipped us but I'm more optimistic this year as the game is on the stripes and we should be ready to play. Agree that we were not ready last year, for whatever reason.

Go 8-3 and hard to keep out of playoffs..........really hard part is going 8-3.....Samford is a big game to show we can win out of SLC..........then again I would guess the team is looking to go 11-0 and win SLC..........

Don't be so hard on the offense. The last scrimmage had the defense with the upper hand but they KNEW the plays the offense was going to run. Much different story than when the camp started where I saw passes being completed left and right.

All I know is our defense..passing defense...is MUCH MUCH better.

well it is hard for the offense to look real potent with 3 o line starters out!! hard to pass, run, or do anything without o line. the physical fall practice has taken its toll on the o line. center out with knee issues, left tackle out with concussion, right tackle out with injured ankle, and other o line with minor injuries. may should have just keep those guys healthy. offense can be fantastic, great qb, rb's, and receivers, but they can't do Anything without o line

Agree, Bear South.
Injuries are part of the game, that's why depth is so important.
"Next man up" is difficult without depth. I think, and hope, that we are cultivating some depth like we have never had before. Still the best teams tend to have the good fortune of health. Here's to a healthy year for the Bears!
