Just wanted to add, most people think what has happened is that three games into the season, they are seeing that they are not as effective running the ball as they had expected.

Voytik's skills are better suited to a run oriented offense, and that will probably not be the case going forward.

The fact the defense has not played well is also a factor.

One positive note for them is that starting in the 2nd half of the Auburn game they have been playing a lot better on both sides of the ball. If not for a couple of costly turnovers early (that Anderson blamed on Voytik, and said led to the QB change) they would have probably beaten Utah State, despite the extraordinary number of penalties.

Anyway should be a good game for the fans so enjoy.

Nice stadium...someday will get there for a game but not this week.........hope RWs go undefeated after a loss this weekend..........our d-line is best I have seen as to depth............maybe not the name players like we have had at DE as in past but very good, very large and very quick two deep..........RWs should win but never know if we play well and avoid disasters........

Does not look like they are going to test your DL much in the run game, but they expect your offense to test theirs with their run game. Said stopping your run game was a key.

Their front 4 was suppose to be the strength of their team 4-deep, and really have not been that bad. Their problems have been with the play of the back 7.

The two inside guys have been pretty solid, and according to their DC who said 340lb Nose Guard Waylon Roberson is playing like he is possessed, and added “he is a monster in there. Nobody wants to block him. He can’t be blocked.”

At the other inside position starter Robert Mondie (321) has been dinged up but should be back, and if not Alabama transfer Dee Liner (325lb), and Jake Swalley (286) have played pretty well in his absence.

DE's have been 'ok', but have not got to the QB's like they did last year, and So Griggin Riggs (245), is day to day.

From a quick peek at The Den...the A State fans are giving the Bears no respect.
All expect them to blow UCA out by at least 30.

We will see...

I'm not saying we will win, but they won't win by 30! I've got a good feeling about this game for our Bears! They are hungry for some respect!

Think their coaches and players are taking UCA very, very seriously.

Not beating Utah St made this almost a "must win" for them, and particularly their HC. You will get their maximum effort, that is for sure.

Bottom line, when you are a HC that tells a fan base you have a team with the talent to represent the G5's in Dallas, and you are 0-3, and have not looked like you have been coached very well, it gets to be a serious credibility issue.

That s whats on the line for Blake Anderson.

Well said Seminole Indian.

A-State HAS to win this for the coaches sake, for their record's sake, and for their bowl hopes.

At least A-State isn't afraid to play in-state teams.

Plus UCA has nothing to lose in this game. If they lose..oh well, it was expected.
If they win, its just a bonus in the eyes of the playoff selection committee at the end of the year. Most Bear fans in the state wouldn't say ASU was no good because ASU has proven they are good now. One loss isn't going to destroy a reputation they have built up for years.

The average A-State fan is not the average Razorback fan.

They are not far removed from when they were classified as a small college in football, much less FCS (1-AA), so they know darn well UCA can beat them.

In fact they know if they play regularly UCA will beat them. no doubt about it, and it could be this Saturday, but they, just like UCA, "ain't scared".

The BEARS won't be scared...they will be excited. I just hope the coaching staff
will turn them loose and let them perform and not give them too much to think
about. As the Waterboy said " It's time to open up a can of whoopass "

The twitter stat comparison is fun to look at, but obviously not even close to apples to apples.

I think this is what really shows how this program has changed since the last time we played ASU:
Code:
- TALE OF THE TAPE -
POSITION ................................. UCA ................ ASU
Offensive line (starters avg.)........... 6-3, 309...........6-4, 302
Defensive line............................6-2, 277...........6-2, 280
Offensive backs ......................... 5-11, 186 ......... 5-11, 192
Receivers..................................6-2, 199...........6-0, 203
Linebackers .............................. 6-2, 229........... 6-1, 212
Defensive backs............................6-1, 194...........6-0, 193
Punt/Kickoff returners....................5-10, 174.........5-11, 193
Kicker/Punter.............................6-0, 182...........5-10, 185

(I don't have the game notes from 2011 to compare it to, but I feel very confident we were 20+ pounds lighter across the lines.)

Yes! I remember last time we played, we were undersized, but it seems that we have made some nice gains in that area!
