The Bears gashed the Cardinals with the run game in Beaumont last year and will
do it again on THE STRIPES...

UCA 44
LAMAR 18

Will probably slip in a couple to Jatavious and Desmond to boot.

Southeastern will beat us next week if we play even close to how we played tonight. They are much better than last year and won't be using second teamers like Lamar had to. I am most surprised by the fact that we couldn't establish any run game tonight. Our line had been taking over games lately. We seem to have to have one of these ugly wins every year though.

Defense bails out the team again, 15 rushing yards. great performance despite a few questionable calls, it may have only been 3 points.

Offense sputtered all night and failed to really run the ball at all. It's easy to read a telegraphed offense.

Here comes the gauntlet: SELA and SFA on the road, an improved Nichols and then the #1 team on the road. Should be fun

A win is a win, but.....

The team looked flat. Offense was asleep all night. The line was not opening up the holes for the backs. Defense played a decent and may have been the reason that Lamar did not keep it closer than it was.

The guys showed a lot of grit, though. They never looked flustered. Never looked like anyone was giving up on the game plan but just chose grind it out. This team is a lot of fun to watch (especially the defense).

Take heart Bear fans.

First half questionable calls.

We had two chances to get a first down and I thought we got it both times.
Not go for it on 4th and one at the one. Strange.

But i'm glad we won. Ugly but we won.

Amen, put this game in the bank and get ready for SEL. Good teams have to win a few ugly games like this and one group, this time the defense, makes the plays to do it. This can be a great learning experience for both players and coaches. The grind has just started and the Bears have a difficult challenge and a great opportunity in front of them. On to SEL!

SELA will have and abundance of gifted athletes just like McNeese. If BEARS
show up in Hammond with the same focus as they did in Lake Charles, they
will come away with a win without a doubt.
