In anticipation of Bears vs Tulsa there are four TV games tomorrow to start getting in the football mode.....

4:30pm - Duquense Dukes (FCS) vs UMASS Minuteman (FBS) - NESN (regional), 15-63

6:00pm - Prairie View Panthers (FCS) at Rice Owls (FBS)- ESPN, 28-316:30pm - Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (FBS) at Colorado State Rams (FBS) - CBCSN, 43-34
9:00pm - Wyoming Cowboys (FBS) at New Mexico State Lobos (FBS) - ESPN2, 29-7

Last two listed are conference openers.

There will be games on five consecutive days from 8/30-9/3..............NCAA.com notes one of the "high profile matchups" will be Texas A&M vs Northwestern State ...really?

Miami announced this week that they will be wearing eco-friendly uniforms this year made from recycle yarn made from fishing nets retrieved from the oceans (literally made from trash).....Canes open at Jerry's World vs LSU......cannot wait to see our LSU fans take to that.....Mark Richt needs to be prepared for some heckling.

Have to admit there are some interesting games this first week........

8/31: Army @ Duke
9/1: Washington @ Auburn (in Atlanta)
9/1: Michigan @ Notre Dame
9/1: Tennessee vs West Virginia at Charlotte
9/1: UCA at Tulsa
9/2: LSU vs The U at Arlington
9/3: Virginia Tech @ Florida State

Things I am nervous about this season...
1. 8 returning starters
2. 4 new OL starters
3. Who is our Corners?
4. New QB starter
5. 4 of our first 6 on the road

Things I am excited about...
1. Coach Brown and staff energy and excitement around the team
2. Defensive line is good
3. Runningback room
4. Breylin seems to be the next in line of the QB success
5. This teams passion, been to several practices, they love football\

Its going to be a fun year. The early surge of the season on the road makes me nervous. I think Coach Brown will do great but he does have a lot of new faces in spots. I have head him say it is not lacking talent just experience. I would be pleased with a playoff run to some extent this year. Have to find a way to win a couple tough road games this year!

Agree with all your points............we will have a pretty good idea this time next week....Bears have played very well on road in recent years....seems like they savor chances to win on road.....defensive and special teams needs to keep us in games to give O time to jell..........not much margin of error for playoffs these days.....probably need 8 wins

Some interesting games in link below re FCs/FBS......I'm not sure that Nicholls beating Kansas would even be an upset.....as good as South Dakota State is, Iowa State is thought by many in B12 that last year's win at Norman was not a fluke......

Anyone see this "Family Plan" ticket package in the online ordering system and have any idea what it is? I sent an email to the athletics office but no response yet.

CONWAY, Ark. _ The Nathan Brown Show will debut at 7 p.m. Monday night at the brand new Pizza Ranch on Dave Ward Dr. in Conway.

The new head coach of the University of Central Arkansas Bears will be joined by host Justin Acri on the weekly show, which will be broadcast live on 103.7 The Buzz. Acri is also the play-by-play announcer for UCA football.

Brown and the Bears are one week away from opening the 2018 season against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane at Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium in Tulsa. Kickoff is 6 p.m. on Saturday.

The Bears are coming off a 10-2 season in 2017 and their second consecutive NCAA Division I FCS Playoff appearance.

The weekly Bear Backers luncheon will also be held at noon Monday in the Hall of Fame Room at Estes Stadium, featuring recaps and previews of all Central Arkansas athletic teams.
