I seen this video posted on Twitter. Someone said he's recovering from ACL surgery.

How's he been looking?

Nobody knows. I don't see any stats for him. If he had surgery then he likely didn't play?

Other than that there's no way to say how he's looking. :shifty:

Well apparently he tore his ACL in September and had surgery in October.

Ok. Praying for his healing. But to your original post about how we think he's looking all we can say is we don't know. I guess Spring practices will likely show us something if he is healthy enough to practice.

Do you know if he is getting a redshirt? Will he have 4 years left to play? I imagine so since it was his freshman year and he was injured. Hope the kid recovers 100% and earns his way to all-American for the Bears! He looked promising as I got to watch him in high school due to a family member playing ball the past few years.

We need some ball hawks!

I don't think he'll do a lot during spring practices but continue to get healthy for the upcoming season. I do know that he indeed redshirted this year and will have 4yrs still to play at UCA. I think he will be a very good DB for the Bears. Hopefully he'll be ready to go come August.

Wish him a complete recovery...

I was told yesterday that he hasn't been cleared but his recovery is going great and he looks good running this spring. That he lost some weight after surgery but has managed to gain a lot back this spring. Said when healthy that the young man could be just as good as Rochelle and Lamont at corner. That if the NCAA passes that new transfer rule next month. Then it wouldn't surprise him if Jones didn't transfer to an FBS school in a year or two because he thinks he could be that good of a player.

Hope all that is true about Donte Jones. Let’s hope he is that good of a player and has a good enough experience he doesn’t want to transfer like 99% of our team seems to be having. Hopefully any transfer waivers happening won’t hurt us moving forward.

He may want to transfer because of his talent?

I sure wish UCA had a history of putting players in the NFL...

Even Eastern Washington and North Dakota State are losing players to the FBS.

It's happening now in basketball and baseball as well. Not sure there is a whole lot we can do about it unfortunately.

A friend of mine son trains at the same facility that Jones trains at with his personal trainer. I'm hearing that the young man has been cleared by his doctor and is looking and moving really good in the drills. Said he seen where Jones weighed in at 180 pounds and his trainer said he was only around 160 when came home in March because of the weight loss after surgery. Hearing he gained a lot of his muscle back since my friend seen him in March.

Look forward to watching him perform!!! Hopefully he can be like Tre Smith, George Odum, and Robert Rochell in our list of great DBs.

Hopefully but I'm hearing they think highly of the out of state guys in the secondary then the in-state guys.
