On the night of the Tech game, Conway closes out its regular season
against Little Rock Catholic at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.

Two things....if Conway is out of contention for the playoffs, it most likely
will not hurt the crowd, however, if the Wampus Cats are bound for the playoffs or the berth is on the line, it will hurt our crowd for the Tech game.

What to you guys think ?

Also, I think it is just crazy to have four Thursday night games.

I don't really see this being a problem as the game is being played at Tech, which has a very small visitors side and can easily be packed out...especially if we bring the Bear Band again!

You know Josh, it probably will not be a factor...but I found out this morning that there are several other high school games scheduled for that particular night so it might/could affect the crowd.

Let's face it, its all about the teevee anyway. It will be GREAT exposure for both schools. Kinda hard to beat.

I meant to post this eariler, how do you guys feel about playing on Thursday night ?

The only problem game I can see is the short turnaround in time between the Valdosta and North Alabama games.

Whatta you guys think ?

I agree, the turnaround between VSU and UNA could very well be a problem. I just hope that since these games are going to be on Thursday night that UCA will promote these games like crazy around campus and Conway...and I hope that they don't forget to tell everyone that it is going to be on TV!!

By the way does anyone know if these games will be broadcast in the Memphis area by chance?

With UCA having some many thursday night games, it could be good or bad. If they promote it right, students who normally go home every weekend might attend the game. But if they fail to get the word out about it, more than likely the crowds will smaller than if they were on saturdays.

Josh, I havn't confirmed this, but when it was being talked about yesterday, Memphis was one of the cities they said that the games would be available in.

I'll check again this afternoon and see what I can find out.

Conway Corp. which supplies Cable TV for Conway will carry the games regardless what cable company broadcasts them. Comcast and Cox systems are carrying the games. Cox covers Arkansas including NW Arkansas (pig country.)

I"ll just make the assumption right now and say that STL will not be on that list!

I wouldn't be surprised if STL wouldn't have Comcast/Cox...I mean usually Cox is in big market towns

Taking the UNA game off that Saturday totally messed up the plans people had for Family Day(coordinators who have already booked acts and fun things). They should have broadcasted Senior Day (UCA vs UAM on Oct. 29)--more people are here for Family Day than they would be for Senior Day! But....someone wasn't thinking or it wasn't a choice. I don't know.

I hear that it wasn't really discussed much.
The idea was initially talked about, then most thought it was just not going to happen. The next time they hear about it, it's the announcement that it IS happening. The dates already decided and everything.

But that's just what I've been told.

Yeah most of the times, there is not a whole lot of choice in these matters, you do what the conference tells you. Or you would have every school making a case for something every weekend why they shouldn't be on TV on a Thursday. That does suck though for all the planning and money that might have just gone down the tubes.
