Why cover our TE's when we never throw to them? The two catches this game by TE's were the first two catches by TE's this season.

Not going to argue with this....

RAY EARNS SLC PLAYER OF WEEK AWARD

CONWAY, Ark. _ University of Central Arkansas placekicker Hayden Ray was named the Southland Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time this season on Monday.

Ray, a junior from Bryant (Ark.) High School, was perfect in the Bears' 40-31 win over McNeese last Saturday at First Security Field at Estes Stadium. Ray provided a good chunk of UCA's points, hitting four of four field goal attempts and four of four extra points, good for 16 of UCA's points.

Ray connected on field goals of 34, 39, 25 and 39 yards, with the last two in the fourth quarter giving the Bears their final margin of victory in the annual "Red Beans and Rice Bowl." Ray's fourth extra point capped off Tyler Hudson's 19-yard touchdown reception with 2:46 left in the third quarter that gave the Bears the lead for good.

Ray is 9 of 9 on field goals attempts and 17 of 18 on point-after attempts for the season. He also earned the SLC award following the Abilene Christian game on Sept. 14.

The 16th-ranked Bears (4-2, 2-1) are on the road this weekend taking on the Northwestern State Demons in Natchitoches, La. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Turpin Stadium.
