Cant lose again. If the game was close against SLU it might be another story but getting trucked and shutout has put a stain on the resume.

I see no path forward for any 4 loss southland team that’s not an AQ

The playoff picture is still a bit murky for the SLC, but there are a few knowns:

1. SLU/Nicholls winner gets the AQ.
2. UCA is most likely in no matter what. A win secures it but even a loss may not be enough to keep us out. UIW has a few decent wins on their schedule, but they have not been consistent.

The interesting case is the loser of SLU/Nicholls. I think if Nicholls loses, they get left out. Their only quality win would be against UCA. Their loss to ACU will stick out.

If Nicholls wins, I think SLU gets in regardless. Quality win over top 10 UCA and JSU may be enough in the committee's mind to get them a at-large spot.

SHSU played themselves out this weekend, unfortunately. I hate it for those guys. SLC is stronger when SHSU plays well. They have a great playoff resume for the conference.

Right now, I'm predicting two teams: SLU and UCA. SLU beats Nicholls and they get left out. I hope I'm wrong on them being left at home, but SLU is playing strong again and I just don't think Nicholls has the resume.

Yeah I'm thinking the only way Nicholls gets in is with the AQ.

Let's hope coach Brown tells that to the players. A little motivation. It's all or nothing. Conference championship AND a playoff spot...or go home.

Ouch.

I'm not sure we'll get left out with a loss, but we'll definitely be a bubble team discussion.

But I hope the team doesn't know/think that. I want them to play like they have everything to lose. I want to see the same physicality we saw with the defense, the same running game, and a better passing game than what has been there the last two weeks.

But the plan is simple: Win and in. Don't risk it. Play with urgency.

With Nicholls getting the AQ, SLU is now a bubble team and will probably be a "last 4 in" scenario.

We can help their case with a win-and-in tonight.

Go Bears!

Bear resume:

9-3 record
Beat OVC Champion - Austin Peay
Beat FBS bowl team with SEC victory - Western Kentucky
Southland Conference Co-Champions

Very impressive season!

Congratulations and let’s see what the games tomorrow and the playoff selection brings on Sunday.

Another great season for the best Division 1 program in the state of Arkansas.

I know we may not get a national seed, but we have as much of a case as anyone in the 5-8 slots. Our only 2 FCS losses just played each other for the conference AQ last night. We still played our way into a co-championship.

Hopefully we get some help tomorrow and squeeze us into a first round bye.

If not, next Saturday will be at Estes on the stripes and I'll be there ready to lose my voice routing this team to victory.

I don’t think there is any doubt our resume is good enough based on the year to have a 6-8 seed comparing to other in that slot. It is probably our strongest non conference strength we have ever had. Beat an FCS conference champ and auto bid as well as beat a potential 8 win bowl team at the FBS level. Our loss was to a potential 9 win FBS team that we played with.

If the seed doesn’t happen it’s because of the overall disrespect for the southland. Will see what they think.

I get why we would be seeded, and I completely get why we would not be.

Either way, I bet we have at least one home game left. I'm not sure what it would take to fill the stadium this weekend (especially since NCAA governs ticket prices), but if we host Saturday, we need 10k people showing up who want to make that place LOUD!
