I’m with you BearCountry. Bears still have a great opportunity in front of them and there’s lots of football yet to be played. As much as we fans are disappointed, there is no one as disappointed as the players and coaches in the Bears locker room. Winning a college football game is hard and losing one is gut wrenching.

The sky was falling after Nicholls and the Bears won 4 in a row. Let’s see how they perform the next two weeks.

We may win the next two and get a share of the conference and get in the playoffs...but today was all the problems noted on this board exposed at once. Breylin had to be sharp and he wasn’t. WRs dropped the few balls that got to them and both lines looked like they were on roller skates

Good day for Arkansas QB transfers

We knew Southeastern would be a handful..they always seem to have an extra step of speed than other Southland teams......turns 3 yard runs into 10 and closes on receivers making catches harder....Breylin certainly not sharp... o-line gave decent time most plays but passes were often underthrown or overthrown....at least 3 wide open receivers with lots of room to run either the throw was missed or dropped...….nothing Lions did on offense really a big surprise...I figured they would score 30 or so points...…...we never really figured out how to stop them after Q1....credit a couple of Kelley's TD runs to really good blocking that just moved our guys aside....credit the others to just not having anyone near him.....it should be no surprise that Kelley is 6'7 and 260 and has been used in those goal lines situations before....

Missed a really big opportunity to secure SLC crown and move up in playoff rankings......nothing a sure thing now......SFA beat Incarnate Word tonight...……..these two games will be dogfights to win....better get to 9 wins as being 3rd with 8 wins not a sure thing for playoffs in a year with 12 games.....

Looking for much better play by offense next week...…..Go Bears!!

First time since 1985 shut out at home, and first sine 1995 overall. I’d say offensive game plan was trash. As far as WR go. We have multiple others to sub in. Outside especially Rarely rotate. So those guys are probably worn out. Get some subs in 10-15 snaps. Stay fresh. When tired never as sharp.

Last time shutout at home looks to me to be 10/25/75 vs OBU by 0-21...….only three others between then and now and all away …..1976 playoffs at Texas A&I....1978 at SEMO (I actually saw that one while living in Missouri)...1995 at Delta State.....maybe it will be another 44 years before this happens at home again....

Hats off to SLU for well played game all around….

Yeah... SLU drew up the blueprints,
let's hope SFA & UIW don't know how to read them.

I'm still scratching my head....

First off, SLU played great. They took Breylin out of his rhythm, killing our O-line, and never letting our passing game get into a rhythm.

But, let's be real about what hurt us more than anything Saturday: Penalties. Lack of discipline. I had to listen to the first half but we had them stopped and then would get a penalty.

I posted this on the SHSU message board: If we start sluggish I did not think we could come back. That is exactly what happened. We did not adjust well this game. It was a big game on a big stage and we folded.

The good news is, this is the loss we could afford and still make the playoffs. We cannot afford to lose again and not be considered one of the first four out. SFA is struggling, and UIW looks as vulnerable as we do. We just have to go take care of business the next two weeks and get ready to play the Saturday of Thanksgiving, hopefully here.
