Heat forces Bears to try night practices

The heat goes on
The sweltering triple-digit August heat has forced the Uhiversity of Central Arkansas to change its practice schedule.
Coach Clint Conque had the Bears practice Thursday from 8 to 10:15 p.m. instead of 4 to 6:15 p.m. as originally scheduled. There will also likely be a night practice Friday.
"Wednesday, the temperature on our field was 103 degrees when we were practicing," Conque said. "That's too much and we haven't even put on full equipment. Everything we do is going to be done first with the safety of our players in mind. The night practice allows us to give the players three full meals and as much liquid as we can get in them."...
