The roster has been updated on UCASports.com and therefore this site as well.
Here are some noticeable changes:

1.) 26 Players from last years squad are gone. Including OL Edmundo Martinez who was listed at starter on the two-deep at this time last year.
2.) They have been replaced by 37 new faces - including the return of Hopson and TE Nick Grant --- sidenote: If you haven't seen Grant fight in Fite Nite, you should go if he participates again. The guy is a machine . That number also includes 17 from High School/redshirts from last season and 18 transfers.
3.) A number change by Chris Reil from 15 to 5.
4.) [table][mrow]Gain[col]Lost[col]Pos.[col]Net
[row]0[col]1[col]QB[col]-1
[row]1[col]1[col]RB[col]0
[row]0[col]1[col]FB[col]-1
[row]7[col]8[col]WR[col]-1
[row]1[col]0[col]TE[col]+1
[row]7[col]5[col]OL[col]+2
[row]6[col]2[col]DE[col]+4
[row]4[col]2[col]DT[col]+2
[row]5[col]3[col]LB[col]+2
[row]6[col]3[col]DB[col]+3
[/table]
5.) Five players listed over 300 lbs. Freshman Josh Cade 6'4" 340 lbs.
6.) Either Briscoe was busy in the weight room or some players ate way too many deep-fried twinkies in the offseason.
K. Rogers +14
J. Walker +22
N. Brown +13
J. Johnson +14
B. Rochelle +16

Last time I saw Rogers it didn't look like he was getting fat or anything. It's probably a lot in his legs which will just make him even harder to bring down on first contact. He didn't run away from people a lot to begin with so nothing lost there.

Brown, as a freshman, probably needed some weight.

Jasper Johnson is a pretty good sized dude (good height, solid frame) so I can see him holding that extra weight and not losing speed. Plus with the bevy of DBs they might have plans on slightly changing his role. He was a big hitter before, and if he beefed up some and runs the way he did, that's going to be potent. Depending on the scheme he's the type of guy you might could slide up and use as more of an LB than S. He's a ballhawk, too so he can cover on the underneath routes while still being effective against the run.

The loss of Edmundo probably won't be painless. You can never have enough OL depth and it's not good to lose a proven starter. Of course it's not the end of the world since there are other quality OLs and the RBs can make stuff happen on their own, which leads to...

The glaring omission of 1,000-yard runner Bernard Scott. He was outside to Kentrel's inside last year, but the guy had all sorts of problems with both attitude and hanging on to the ball. I always kinda liked the guy, though.

But anyway, usually you'd be all kinds of fired up about losing a guy like that ... but not this year. For one you still have Rogers and a very capable Ross Brown, but you also get the glorious return of Willie Hopson who set the GSC on fire two years ago as a freshman. I figure Hopson-Rogers will be UCA fans' argument equivalent of Cobbs-Talley for some time.

Hop looked as good as ever in spring drills. He's got speed, he's not a lightweight, and he will shake somebody right out of their cleats before season's end.

Also, it appears February signee Derek Dunn, the coach's son from Evangel Christian HS who was his class valedictorian, won't be making it to campus. Huge enrollment push and we can't get Conque's only valedictorian signee to appear? Splendid.

I counted 38 total departures (12 seniors, 26 others):

SENIORS
1. WR Anthony Lampkin
2. QB Zak Clark
3. DB Jonathan Daniels
4. DB Chris "8-year Plan" Jordan
5. DB Trey "8-year Plan" Jordan
6. DE Gary Davis
7. DE Chad Taylor
8. DE Chuck Price
9. LB Stacey Hill
10. OL Derek DePriest
11. DT Brandon Eason
12. OL Jason Russell

Others who are done (or at least not on the roster)
1. LB Jacob Adams (who has been relegated to working out in the HPER with the rest of the lay-people)
2. DE/Baseball Player/Stuck on a Truck contestant Austin Baker-Jones
3. FB Trey Beale
4. WR Trey Bray
5. OL Tom Brown
6. DT Shelvey Clark
7. LB Michael Colschen
8. WR Johnny Conway (Too bad this guy didn't have more talent. Could've owned this town.)
9. Backpack Snatcher Chris Guerra
10. DB Josh Henry
11. OL Zach Little
12. DB Dewayne Lockhart
13. LB Julouis Lockhart
14. OL Edmundo Martinez
15. WR Kevin McGrew
16. QB Lance Parker (now in stop 3 in his never-ending search for PT)
17. WR Todd Pinkston (signed with Philadelphia Eagles)
18. DB Chris Ragland
19. WR Gary Raymond
20. OL Nick Rhoads
21. WR Bo Rhodes
22. DE Jerad Russell
23. OL Darron Shepperd
24. WR Sean Sterling
25. WR Jontrell Wells
26. RB Bernard Scott

Is there anyway we can get TO since Pinskton already signed with the Eagles. TO isn't happy and that would be an even switch since at least TO doesn't flinch away from balls thrown directly at him.

I left out D. Lockhart and B. Rhodes because they weren't on the roster I was looking at.
Same for Parker except I remembered to include him in the table. Thanks for the catches. I'll update the table above.

This is the first I'd heard of Lance leaving. Anybody know where he's at now?

I hate to see these guys leave after such a good season like our freshmen RBs have done the last 2 years, but if we can keep Hopson and Scott alternatin years and saving eligability we might just be set for a few more years.

Anybody know how Ryan Taylor and Kelvin Horne have been looking in practice so far, they lived across the hall from me last year so I'm tryin to keep up with them?

I don't expect to see Scott on the team again.

I haven't seen them this fall, but I know Taylor and Horne looked very good in the spring and both should be in the linebacker rotation. I think Taylor especially has a great chance to start, he has outstanding football speed and closing ability. He's a bit undersized, but a great tackler.
