Scroll all the way down to #198...hey at least we aren't dead last and we haven't even played a game as a member of I-AA yet!

On the down side however, UCA is from 11 to 24 point underdog to the five 1AA foes listed as well, not counting the nearly four point advantage for those who are home teams... some foes like UC Davis, Ill St. and Georgia So. would be favored over ASU as well, according to these power rankings... didn't realize a few of these teams were so highly regarded, like So. Dakota St. adn Mo. State. I originally had UCA tabbed for 7 to 8 wins, but it looks like six would be excellent at this point.

Any idea what the spread is on the Henderson game?

Since UCA bombed Henderson last year, I'd say if there were such a line the Bears would be favored by low 20-plus. However, I think it's going to be a much better game than that. UCA by anywhere from 10-15 would be more realistic but the Reddies are much, much better than last year and word is they just had a juco transfer at rb move in who had signed with Miami, Fla. and failed to make the grades. A lot depends on if the Bears who have been sitting out practice with injuries are healthy and in shape, I'd say.

Followup.
The guys name is James Johnson and he is apparently leaving Kansas State. Here is his bio and link to HSU from Blinn, apparently.

James Johnson RB 5-11 200 Port Arthur, TX
Rushed for 2,384 yards and scored 36 touchdowns during his two seasons at Blinn... Averaged just under 7.5 yards per carry during his career... Earned first team NJCAA All-America honors as a freshman in 2004 and honorable mention All-America accolades from the NJCAA as a sophomore in 2005... Was also a two-time first team All-Southwest Junior College Football Conference selection... Ranked seventh (115.2 ypg) in the NJCAA in rushing as a sophomore and fifth as a freshman (123.2 ypg)... Helped lead the Buccaneers to a 7-3 record in 2005... Totaled 1,152 yards on 170 carries (6.8 ypc) and 15 touchdowns as a sophomore... Led SWJCFC runner-up Blinn to a 9-2 record and a victory over Jones County Community College in the 2004 Golden Isles Bowl... Finished freshman season with 1,232 yards on 153 attempts (8.1 ypc) and led the nation in touchdowns with 21... Led the SWJCFC in scoring in both 2004 and 2005... 2004 conference offensive MVP

Look out, another Blinn player goes to HSU.

I'm scared now. We saw how good that group was last year.

Alright, I get the picture. You don't want any info on your first opponent and this is a UCA board. UCA is not worried in the least about the game and the fans aren't worried. I always heard last year was last year and this year was this year, but oh well...

no I just think people want information on the first opponent in the football thread regarding the game, and not sagarin ratings thread.

I just think it's fun to talk trash about an opponent, regardless of which topic it's under.

I certainly don't mind you talking about HSU anywhere, just be prepared for someone to make a little fun...

And of course this is a new year, but that doesn't change my opinion of what UCA is going to do to Henderson. (<- see a little fun, that's all)
