I disagree. They never miss negative coverage....things like....."..the assailant was a student at UCA..."..I have even heard something like..."....a recent graduate of UCA....".....just BS.....had nothing to do with the incident they reported on...…..

I was talking with a colleague today (we are both UCA grads and headed to Conway on Sat) about this very thing.

It is sort of a “circular logic / self fulfilling prophecy” deal.

The U of A keeps spouting this crap about AR being “a one team state,” or “everyone’s a hog fan” or “being the only game in town.” Then the media covers only 1 team (sort of like they and the university are in it together huh?) and casual fans think it is all true and there is only 1 team to follow. I’ve heard crap like UCA is D2 and that ASU is still 1AA. It’s sickening. Sad part is if the hogs aren’t playing Bama I want them to win. Reading over at hogville, many of their posters are the same concerning us. But the casual fans are left in the dark and it is planned that way.

Phil...…...like you, the hog first fans I know typically know how the Bears fared and I would say want them to do well...…...trust me the Western Kentucky deal this year got many of theirs attention...most even say the same about A-State (maybe only a Gus carryover effect) ....but you are right about most...….an example is the immigrants in NWA who typically wear a hog shirt or cap probably as they are trying to fit ...can't blame them for that...….I have told some folks I know that are new to Arkansas they should feel free to root for whoever they want to.....at least in my neighborhood we have folks who are LSU, Iowa State, Kansas, Mizzou, Texas, etc fans and have not fallen for the propaganda....

PS...when we used the ad tagline...……."UCA.. ..central to Arkansas"....that got their attention here....

This morning on "The Show With No Name" Tommy Smith mentioned about UCA's season coming to an end, and then said, "I didn't see it." He had to ask RJ about it.

Think about it: You're a radio personality on a primarily sports oriented radio station, the "flagship" losers are not playing this week, and you didn't watch the game? Hey Tommy, it is called show prep. The team from the hill is not good, look at someone else. Heck, look at OBU more. They had a heck of a season too.

I quit listening to that show when Tommy started talking about his rectal exams and David his toe nails needing to be clipped with bolt cutters. Also the stupid questions and Mt. Rushmores of whatevers.

That and Hogtime sports in the afternoon.

That was a great early season win by the bears for sure.

Amen...the Bears beat a team that utterly destroyed the flagship program of
the State of Arkansas and one of their former players refers to them as
AR-KANSAS on NFL Sunday night football...the ultimate slap in the face.

Hogtime sports? Now that's funny but true. The Bears was in the playoff only to get the game stolen from them. We got robbed. Hogtime sports rule is do not talk about A-state, UCA, UAPB, Harding, Ark. Tech, Henderson, Ouachita Baptist, So. Arkansas, UA Monticello, Hendrix college, and Lyon college. By all means lets silence any callers who don't want to talk about the razorbacks. What a shame this is. I am thankful for Justin and RJ who is an advocate for the Bears. If people would start calling in about these other teams things would shift the other way. Why don't we as Bearbackers organize a time then call hogtime sports and flood the airways about UCA? Who would like to head this task? Just an idea.
