Yes i'm getting excited about thursday, but i haven't missed an opeining game this decade. But in playing Henderson its the worst opening game we have played under Clint. I would be a hell of a lot more excited if we were even playing Texas School of the Blind! Go TSB, the fighting Seeing Eye Dogs!

Yeah aleast everyone in Arkansas didn't know they weren't worth a shit. And second point is then ok we have played some bad teams to open up in the past but at we have also beat them by at least 40 too!

wasn't saying that, we've handled our business well lately vs. teams we should handle our business with. But I think it might be a bit of stretch to call Henderson the worst opening opponent of all :D No matter how bad I want to beat them.

Fair enough but here is Clint's opening record.
2000 Nicholls State 44-52 they ain't no chump
2001 Abilene Christian 65-10 Yeah Chumps
2002 ACU again 31-17 tough game
2003 ACU round 3, 30-12 tough game again
2004 Eastern New Mexico 38-31, was at the game and we really should have lost!
2005 ENMU again 51-0 Yeah were some chumps

2005 Henderson State 55-7 Chumps for sure!
So just basing in on past history, at best Henderson State would be 7 points better than any other Chumps we have opened with. And if you need any more evidence then go check out Purple Pride's thread and tell me Henderson isn't the "that bad"!!!

Hell since I have been keeping up with Da' Bears, which was Harold Horton's first year in 1982, we are 20-3-1 versus HSU. So if you wanna say they are good for an opener, fine. You always like to have a chump you can beat the shit out of to start the year off right! And as far as I can see, that old reddie spirit fits that bill quite brilliantly!

Who can argue with such logic as that of Bearfootball24? He's got the facts, the figures and the way with computer keys of few I have ever seen :P ... Makes for some good, solid discussion come game time! (NOT)... But for my money, HSU will have to prove they are worse this year than that team UCA opened with last year...

There is no doubt that having opponents like HSU and E. New Mexico is not the long term goal for a War Memorial opponent for the Capital City Classic.

UAPB stiffing us on the contract a couple of years ago put us in a bind and with the huge move we are making scheduling wise this year I believe Henderson is just fine for a one year deal only.

In future years our travel for non-conference games should be nowhere near as punishing as it is this year and we will, hopefully, upgrade our opponent for this game.

yeah you mentioned the UAPB game being, and I use the word loosly here " postponed (on their end) and isn't that the reason why we were having to schedule Iowa Wesleyan? To be fair, I'm not sure that game was origianally on our schedule when that season's schedule was first released.

well very early in the 4th, Henderson is proving they just might be as bad...

I should have kept my 42 points I made in my original prediction and took the under for HSU's point total of 14....
