Is Central Arkansas being blinded by the Division I light?

But get this:
"...aside from Connecticut women's basketball, it's hard to think of any I-AA schools that have won national championships in the other major team sports..."

Anybody want to ask this guy what makes a team I-AA? Cause the last I checked UConn was in the Big East in football.

tbritt@thedailycitizen.com :D
Maybe just send him this link- http://bigeast.collegesports.com/sports ... -body.html

Well, my guess is that he was referring to UConn's women's basketball national championship back in 1995 when the football team was not in the Big East. At the time of that championship, it was a I-AA school.

to give the guy a little benefit of the doubt, maybe he was referring to the past. The UConn football team was 1-AA when the women's b-ball won the national championship in 1995. They joined the Big East in football, around 2000-2001, I believe.

You are correct that now, they are members of the Big East in D-1 in all sports.
