The notice from the NCAA concludes a five-year transition process for UCA’s administration, players coaches and fans. All UCA athletic teams will now be eligible for postseason play in both the Southland Conference and on the national level beginning this fall.

Great news.

Congratulations to the entire UCA community and, in particular, to Brad Teague and THE ENTIRE ATHLETIC DEPT. staff who worked very hard and very smart!!

ANYONE wanting to join a few BEAR and SUGARBEAR fans at the Bear's Den for a Division I celebration Saturday July 17th are more than welcome! It's casual, unplanned, and nothing special is planned just a bunch of Bear fans getting together for a "Huzzah" and "Hurrah!" to celebrate the end of the old era and the beginning of the new era in UCA sports! Consider it a warm-up for football season! :lol:

Enjoyed the celebration with good friends tonight! Maybe next time more will come out for some Bear Celebrations!

I know the football players are performing at a Div. 1 level because all I have heard is it is the hardest thing they have ever done. Very proud that they have stepped it up and are working to be the best team they can be. Love the bears.

With little pomp, short speeches and primarily pleasant informal conversation, the University of Central Arkansas celebrated a long-anticipated and dreamed milestone Wednesday afternoon.

Before about 60 faculty, staff and supporters at Buffalo Alumni Hall, Tom Burnett, Southland Conference commissioner, welcomed UCA as an official active member of NCAA Division I.
