For the fans. We are now officially driving a Lexus and not the Escort any more. As fans of UCA sports and the university itself, it is now our time to step up and support this program with our money. I don't think I've heard more than 2 or 3 people over the last fives years that were against the move up. To those two or three you can skip this post.

For those of us that supported the move and watched our teams and athletes sacrifice any goals of championships it is now time to dig a little deeper and step up. I know it is very hard for some to insert into their budget a space for athletic donations but believe me once you make the adjustment it is doable. It doesn't have to be much to start off with but it does need to be something. Every penny is tax deductable so there is another plus there.

There is some self-gratification in knowing that you have contributed to a cause that you deeply care for by a mean other than just buying a ticket for a seat. As long as you stay passionate for the program and the reasoning you'll more than likely find yourself increasing your donation by a little bit each year.

Think about it guys.

Thanks for the post, I am excited about getting thru this transition phase. We must all dig a little deeper and we need numbers. A large base of smaller givers and a solid core of medium givers are very important. My short term goal: enlarge Estes with a conservative plan to add some boxes and some club seating, maybe enclose the south endzone, add a few thousand seats. This should be totally underwritten by season tickets and long term contracts on the boxes and club seats. Medium term goal: a new, small arena with an emphasis on the coach's and administration's offices and training rooms and locker rooms and seating for 4,000 +/-. The Stephen's Arena serves UALR well. It has only been full a few times (ASU, Navy, Creighton) but their offices and locker rooms and training facilities are as good as any high D1 program; it seats 5700 +/-. They average about 2,500. If we want to raise the bar, the fans and alumni and the business community in Conway and central AR can make those two things happen, let's get it done. Go Bears!

I'm on board and I think most of us "youngsters" are in full effect. As a fairly recent grad I can't wait to come back to my Alma Mater to cheer on the Bears. I think many recent grads feel the same way, we were so lucky to be at UCA these past few years. My brother and sister both went to UCA and their experience was nothing like mine was...as more of us graduate and more freshmen come in to a school with such a great tradition....we will continue to keep moving up. Go BEARS

I am glad to hear that "youngster".

However, the truth is that the actual number of members in the Purple Circle has remained basically the same for the past few years.

I agree with oldbear. The way to build this thing is "grass roots".

We need lots of new members, young and old, to join the Purple Circle, give what they can, increase their giving over the years as their situation allows, come to games, and support UCA to the fullest in every way possible.

This board has more members than the Purple Circle. I realize that this board/formum membership also includes those that are supporters of other schools and that is great but the hard truth is that there are many offering their opinions and proclaiming their support on this forum board who are not giving.

I hope that changes in a big way as we have much to be proud of and support at my school...THE University of Central Arkansas.

Call the AD's office at 501-450-3150 for joining info.

How about auto membership for first year grads in BMB and Purple Rage at no charge?

Double membership level for first year grads who contribute real money?

We need to make the transition smooth and seamless.
