UCA among best in South

CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas ranks 17th out of 69 public universities in the category of Top Public Schools among regional universities in the South, according to the 2011 Best Colleges rankings by U.S. News & World Report.
Overall, UCA ranks 47th out of 121 private and public institutions in the South. The university remains the highest-ranked Arkansas public university among regional universities in the South, according to the report.
UCA President Allen Meadors was pleased that UCA continues to be among the strongest public universities in the South. The university’s ranking affirms that the faculty and staff do a tremendous job to provide the best educational experience for students, he said.
The U.S. News & World Report rankings include more than 1,400 schools nationwide. Rankings were based on peer assessment; retention and graduation rate of UCA’s student body; faculty resources; student selectivity; financial resources; and alumni giving.
“We are pleased to have our stature among the public universities of Arkansas reconfirmed and to know that our academic reputation in the South remains strong,” said Lance Grahn, provost and vice president of academic affairs.

WHAT?!? The ADG actually printed something positive about UCA? Granted is almost month-old news and probably straight from the AP...

Some more potential good news I found in the same section of paper. The Erbach property, the little white house and six acres, that sits within the UCA campus has been offered up for sale by the Erbach children. Estimated value of property is $1.57 million. It was stated in the article that if purchased the land would most likely be used for parking. The lot is narrow and long. Said payment would come from tuition money and general state revenues.

That was five and a half months ago BC. A fella can get a lot accomplished in that amount of time. Heck, I met the wife, swooned her, proposed to her, and married her in just four months.
