Trustees to decide room, board increasesQuote:
The UCA Board of Trustees will decide Feb. 25 whether to approve the proposed room and board rate increases, as proposed by the department of Housing and Residence Life.
Rick McCollum, interim director of Housing and Residence Life, said the proposed 3.8 percent increase on the current board rate and the proposed 3 percent increase on the current room rate are partially a yearly inflation rate increases, while the board rate increase is aimed at introducing new dining concepts.
“Based on the Market Match program we utilized, we saw that students want a late-night option and based on some more of the results from that program, we’re hoping to provide some more options for students,” McCollum said.
