I don't have secret discussions about anything. So, praise the accomplishments of all of the deserving athletes. We celebrate that we have many very deserving student athletes. Just be positive about all of our young people. You seem to imply there was some injustice and you proclaim "transparency" as a good thing, I agree. Let's meet and discuss the issues, I would like to understand where you are coming from, 907-2018 at work, I am available at your convenience.

I appreciate the offer, but there's really nothing to discuss. I have no issue with you nor any individual athlete. My point through all of this has been that there is no discernible academic standard in choosing the Student-Athlete of the Year and there should be. The SLC has a specific standard and so should we. My criticism was always about the process.

I apologize to any that may have been offended if my first post was a bit coarse; I should have chosen my words more carefully. I think we can all agree that UCA has terrific students and there are success stories campus-wide.

Thanks for the dialogue. I'm off to other things.

Note that the term "student-athlete" is simply used by the NCAA to refer to any eligible athlete. Maybe there should be some "higher"" level academic standard at UCA for this award but as long as the person is eligible then it is fair use of the term.

FROM NCAA website
College-bound student-athletes who want to compete for Divisions I and II programs must be certified academically (and also as an amateur) by the NCAA Eligibility Center.

You're kidding me, right? A player who didn't even make the 3.0 club (SLC Commissioner's Honor Roll), when the grade-point average for the nine women’s sports is 3.16, is Student-Athlete of the Year?

Guess the "student" part isn't taken too seriously. What a joke!

So what's your daugher's name? Since that's obviously what this is about?
