Acxiom pledges $200,000 to UCA

Quote:
At a press conference Wednesday on the University of Central Arkansas campus, Acxiom Corporation announced a pledge of $200,000 to the school's Department of Computer Science.

According to UCA, the pledge to be given over the next five years will help underwrite the hiring of a new, tenure-track faculty member in that department.

A HUGE 'thank you' to Acxiom!!! =D>

I hope this one doesn't have strings attached.

Almost all pledges/donations of any kind have strings attached, these funds can only be used for enhancements in Computer Sciences. The funds for the new weightroom was specifically for that purpose. Don't use the money for the stated purpose, you don't get the money. How do you think Arkansas is getting $320 million just for athletics? That money is coming from companies that do business with them, vendors, and private donations all with the requirement that it be used for a specific purpose.

Large donors execute what are called MOUs (memos of understanding) that lays out very specifically how the money can be used and even invested. The UCA Foundation, like other university foundations, has guidelines on what it will accept and how it can be managed.

Are you saying that uaf is having people give them money that want something in return? I'm shocked.

The $320M project is the financial largess known as the SEC. They absolutely do not need more facilities.
