After a 10-year absence, Conway and the University of Central Arkansas will again host the Arkansas High School Coaches Association's June All-Star games, which have been significantly expanded.

Talk about a recruiting boost for UCA when all those kids from all those sports come to campus and see our facilities! Go UCA! =D>

This is great news for Conway and UCA. The former president had this as one of his major objectives for the community. The timing is perfect with the great new upgrades to all the athletic facilities on campus. Brad is grinning tonight.

Interesting that when the NWA media reported this they never once mentioned UCA...it was only Conway. For all you knew it was going to Conway HS.

Well to be honest, CHS is hosting the soccer game and other places around the city are hosting practices. However, UCA is hosting just about everything else (students, meetings, basketball, softball, baseball, football, volleyball, etc.). It is just typical NWA media coverage of UCA.
LOL

Of course, tonight KFSM runs a story on the Burdick Building evacuation complete with an interview of a student with "UCA Student" prominently under the picture.

Nothing like the biased media to give each and everyone the media's slant to a story. You know, maybe UA is the perfect place to go get that college degree. With the exception of their athletic department, you never read about anything else that goes wrong on the hill.

Maybe it's because the hills of Fayetteville are closer to heaven than the flatlands of Conway. :wink:

Interesting story....

".....Conway and the University of Central Arkansas’ Estes Stadium regained the game — where it never should have left — ostensibly because the University of Arkansas tired of hosting the All-Star events and didn’t bid."

From a Comment post;

".....if it wasn't for tyson, walmart, and the hogs, NWA would be far irrelevant ..."

Well, I suppose that is true...if it weren't for the water in the Mississippi River, the river would not be there.....Tyson and WMT are sort of big deals as they are world leaders in their industry....uaf is a major employer as well..... NWA taxpayers contribute an awful lot of taxes (sales, property and income) to the State treasury ....

There are good reasons to have all-star games in central Arkansas as it is much easier to reach from the four corners of the state...and UCA is the natural home....
