From the Oxford American mess, the below is what UCA has provided in money and resources to OA so far.

"that equals around $1.5 million of University resources"

Wouldn't it have been nice to have shown $1.5 million in new student scholarships in this report.

Some tidbits...... things you will not likely see in the media.....(or at least buried pretty deep)....

Quote:
The College of Education was awarded a $2.3 million grant (Transition to Teaching) from the U.S. Department of Education to prepare math and science teachers for North Little Rock and Little Rock school districts. UCA was the only university in the state selected for the teacher training project for the 2011-12 academic year.

Important award.....

Quote:
The College of Business maintained its prestigious business accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International.

Major achievement to retain full accreditation....

Quote:
By the end of August, our freshmen enrollment continued its positive climb by increasing 6.2 percent.

Great trend....

Quote:
The campus community had the opportunity to visit with Milton Pitts Crenshaw in November. Crenshaw is one of the original Tuskegee Airmen.

Very cool...hope many of our students took time to meet Mr Crenshaw....true heroes...

Quote:
Total new gifts for the 2011-12 fiscal year are $4,321,642 thanks to 4,814 donors, of whom 1,977 were new donors. The fundraising total surpassed the annual goal of $3.89 million by just over $432,000 – 11 percent over goal.

Fine results in a weak economy...we have come a very long way in development over the past deacde....

UCA has so much positive potential, if they will just leave their past behind them and focus on the future.

Very true on the potential. However, our past has shaped our future for a few more years to come. I say remember the past, as it shapes our future - for better or worse.

I agree, remembering the past will keep us focused on preparing for the future in the right way. The DG is simply doing their job, it is our fault they have so many things to write about. We will get there and we will be positioned to flourish and have a great future.
