We have spent a fortune branding "The Center of Learning" and "You Belong"..... Why not keep them both and save the money? Quite frankly I hate the two slogans that are being proposed.

You Belong sucked big time from the getgo. Not too impressed with the two new ones mentioned.

UCA - students of today, leaders of tomorrow. That's my two cents worth.

Front and Center- a military command? Get in line. The last thing I wanted in college was to "conform".

Come to life- we're assuming that the students are dead in some fashion. The students ARE the life of the university! Are we going to have an Evanesence(sp?) concert to go along with that theme? "Wake me up, bring me back to life. Save me from, the nothing I've become."

Both new slogans suck IMO. But whatever.

Why not, "The Journey Begins". We could have a concert by Journey at the new outdoor ampitheatre. We could put old maps all around campus to give it that "directional" feel (as if our name isn't directional enough, but play along) Bear tracks all over the streets of campus for (e)affect(I always get those two mixed up) and a giant compass image painted in the fountain.

I've got mountains of ideas for themes. (seriously) But the above is sarcasm.

UCA actually paid a firm to come up with those two lame slogans...I would have
done it for free.

Yeah.....and I think you would have been overpaid! Those slogans suck. But thats just my opinion....I could be wrong.

Do not need a slogan to brand.....not sure I even buy that a slogan helps to really develop the brand...

Better use of Marketing/Advertising funds would be to run commercials highlighting our top performing programs. Highlight the following:

- College of Business and how it works with Acxiom and Insurance companies to get MIS and Insurance graduates careers.

- Speach Path and how 99% (I made that number up) of them get offered a career before they graduate.

- Nursing and its affiliation with Conway Regional

- STEM - the new science, technology, engineering, and mathematics institute

Need to get students thinking outside the typical Doctor, Lawyer, Teacher fields, and imagining makeing a difference in an exciting new field, like MIS, Speach Path, Physical Therapy, and Technology.

Totally agree....

How about UCA Chemistry as the best path to med school?

The MS accounting program is one of the best in the region (best in the state).

Honors College as exceptional prep for grad school in liberal arts....

There is much more.....
