Mallett was named Tuesday among seven new members - including NFL great Jerry Rice - to the hall's divisional class.
The group will be enshrined at the hall Aug. 11-12 in South Bend, Ind.
John Gagliardi, college football's all-time winningest coach, was also in the group.
Other honorees included defensive back Kevin Dent of Jackson State, quarterback John Friesz of Idaho and coaches Dick Farley of Williams (Mass.) and Vernon "Skip" McCain of Maryland State.
The divisional class considers players and coaches from NCAA Divisions I-AA, II, III and the NAIA......
