January 19 - Suzanne Pleshette. This actress was in the Bob Newhart Show and in Rome Adventure. She was 70.

January 22 - Heath Ledger. This successful actor and father of Matilda will be greatly missed. He was only 28.

January 26 - Christian Brando. The son of Marlon Brando was just 49.

February 5 - Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. He taught transcendentalist meditation to the Beatles, he was 96.

February 13 - David Groh. Appeared on Rhoda as husband Joe. He was 68.

February 27 - William F. Buckley. This author was a commentator as well. He was 82.

March 18 - Arthur C. Clarke. Writer of 2001: A Space Odyssey, was 90.

March 24 - Richard Widmark. Famous actor from How The West Was Won, was 93.

April 5 - Charlton Heston. The legend and The Ten Commandements star was 84.

May 5 - Jerry Wallace. The 50s musician and country singer was 79.

May 29 - Harvey Korman. The actor best known on The Carol Burnett Show was 81.

June 2 - Bo Diddley. Musician and one of the founding fathers of Rock & roll, was 79.

June 7 - Jim McKay. The ABC sportscaster for Wide Wide World of Sports.

June 13 - Tim Russert. This political journalist was also the host of Meet the Press.

June 22 - George Carlin. The famous comedian was 71.

July 4 - Senator Jesse Helms. He was a five term Senator from North Carolina. He was 86.

July 22 - Estelle Getty. The beloved actress and star of "The Golden Girls" was 85.

August 9 - Bernie Mac. This comedian of stand-up, movies, and television was just 50.

August 10 - Isaac Hayes. This musician was most famous for writing theme song to "Shaft". He was 65.

September 26 - Paul Newman. He was a beloved actor, best known a the actor from "Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid". He was 83.

October 17 - Levi Stubbs. Was the singer for the Four Tops. He was 72.

October 19 - Richard Blackwell. The fashion critic who created the "Ten Worst Dressed Women" died at age 86.

October 24 - Merl Saunders. The musician who played with The Grateful Dead, as keyboardist, was 74.

November 1 - Jimmy Carl Black, vocalist for The Mothers of Invention, died of lung cancer at 70.

November 1 - Tiffany Cloan, Playboy Playmate, died on a drug-overdose, she was just 35.

November 1 - Shakir Stewart, vice president of Def Jam Recordings, died from suicide by gunshot, he was 34.

November 20 - Betty James, American businesswoman and co-founder of the Slinky company, died at 90.

November 23 - Bob Hale, the American radio personality died at 62.

November 24 - Charlotte Armstrong, an American baseball player (1944-1945), was 84.

November 25 - Ocsi Flipper. The Hungarian singer and musician was 46.

November 27 - Andrew McKelvey, founder of Moster.com, died of pancreatic cancer, at 74.

December 4 - Steve Bradley. The American wrestler was just 32 years old.

December 4 - Party Arty, the rapper, was only 29 years old.

December 3 - William Pierson, Jr, an American art historian, was 97.

December 1 - Dorothy Sterling, the writer and historian was 95.

December 5 - Beverly Garland, the actress from "My Three Sons", died at 82, after a long illness.

December 11 - Bettie Page the American pin-up model died of a heart attack. She was 85.

December 12 - Van Johnson. The actor and legend died of natural causes at 92.

Jan. 15, age 25, Brad Renfro: his short life and acting career, rocketing to stardom as a child actor in 1993's "The Client." He also appeared in such films as "Ghost World" and "Sleepers."

Sept. 1, age 68, Don LaFontaine: The famed voiceover actor, who made the phrase "in a world where" a household name, lent his talents to upward of 3,000 film trailers, and was oft imitated but never duplicated. In one of his rare onscreen appearances, he lampooned himself in a series of Geico car insurance commercials in 2006.
