Yeah, just ironic that it comes after Friday the 13th.

I was getting some weird looks yesterday at work when I went around wishing everyone a "Happy VD"!
Just got back from taking the missus to Outback (my favorite restaurant besides Hooters!). We tried going to her favorite- Olive Garden- but would have still been waiting in line- 2 1/2 hour wait time! There was a long wait time at Outback also, but let me pass along something a lot of folks don't know- sit in the bar area. If a table comes open in the bar area, it's first come first serve. We stood there for less than 15 minutes before we got a booth.
I thought about getting my wife some flowers (that would be dead in a day or 2), maybe some chocolates (that's just going to add a few pounds- and I would have to dig in also!), and maybe something frilly from Vicky's Secret (but that's actually for ME, and she always complains that it's uncomfortable and doesn't stay on longer than a few minutes). And I wouldn't dream of getting her a card. I think cards are the biggest waste of time and money ever invented.
So, what did I get her?
A book by her favorite author- Ted Dekker.
Happy VD, baby! I love you!
And to all of you Bear fans- Hope you have a Happy VD, also!

My wife got an edible arrangement and we are having dinner tomorrow, since I had to work tonight. Plus my son got some M&M's and an Elmo balloon.
