Kris is also the worship leader at New Life Church in Conway, as well as Chi Alpha Campus Ministries at UCA. He auditioned for American Idol in Louisville, Kentucky.
A couple years ago, the winner of American Idol came from about 100 miles west of me (Carrie Underwood from Checotah, Oklahoma). Let's see if the winner this year comes from 100 miles east.
Good luck Kris!

and as always ... voting is open for two hours after the show (from 9-11 p.m. central) and you can vote as many times as your fingers will allow.

DVR my friend.
And I hear there are going to be people outside the concert handing out information on how to vote.

Weird that the night UCA's own American Idol takes the stage America's own American Idol is at UCA.

I was wondering how you were going to vote. Looks like the AI people have that covered. They don't miss anything it appears.

This kid did his introduction video on the AI website wearing a red HOGS t-shirt. Because of that, I would assume that no one on THIS site will be voting for him until he starts sporting some purple.

Have some pride Kris!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy crap. People have been asking me to check this kid out. I finally do, and I see him in a HOGS shirt. Unbelievable. If anyone on here knows this kid, mail him a Bears shirt with a note attached that reads: Dear Kris, WTF? Put this on now.

Unbelievable, I hope he gets zero votes.

We live in such a "wannabe society".

Come on grow a pair and stand up and support your school or get permission from Mommy to go away to school.

i agree. it's kind of disheartening to see that shirt AFTER you see all the promo around UCA for Kris - on campus, in local businesses, at campus events. emails from his professors in the College of Business going out to the community. a prominent posting of his accomplishments on UCA's homepage. i know for sure he's even been paid to play some shows on the UCA campus (i'm guessing he's not ever played UA). they even started a "Vote for Kris" chant at the David Cook concert last night.

i understand you want to rep your state. not too many arkansans make it that far on these types of shows. i get that the hogs are the prominent athletics program in the state. and i get that it's a unique conversation-starting thing. i'm not even gonna fault the kid for being a fan. HOWEVER...

a UCA shirt would do the job just as well. as would, say, a Travs shirt, or a Little Rock Zoo shirt, or just a shirt with the state flag on it. multiple options.

i'll still root for the kid. not much for voting on these things. but the UCA community has shown him some serious love. returning the favor isn't too much to ask for.
