The children if born here are not illegal are they? If the children are citizens shouldn't they get the same rights as any other citizen?

this is true, and those kids WOULD be considered full citizens when they apply to a college, BUT, i think we're talking about the foreign-born children of undocumented immigrants. according to the article,
Quote:
The offer of in-state tuition in the bill would be open to students with no legal status who completed three years of school in the state and graduated from an Arkansas high school.

if they are born in the USA, they are legal citizens. if they are born outside the USA, they have NO LEGAL STATUS. that's the population at which this bill is aimed. and i find myself agreeing with all of you who oppose it. it's even too liberal for me...

"I think Arkansas ought to be bothered by the nationwide effort to make sure we do not pass this bill,” Elliott says.

Hey there, Genius. That "nationwide effort" you speak of is actually just your constituency.

What an ignorant, out-of-touch POS.

I heard that California passed a similar bill and now out of state college attendees have sued the state for $30 billion and will probably win! Hey Dorkus representus, do you want Arkansas sued in the future? I certainly hope not..let's not repeat what's happening in CA.

Citizenship is an option by statute. Congress could change.
